I just looked up the official subtitled video from Funimation and it looks like we're both wrong.

"Sind sie das Essen? Nein, wir sind die Jäger!"

You were a lot closer, but I knew I heard a Nein in there. (German as sung by Japanese people who don't actually speak German is really confusing to listen to. It hurts my brain.)

Hmm I heard it now a couple of times in succession, and I still think my version is right. By the way, "Sind sie das Essen? Nein, wir sind die Jäger!" doesn't make any sense at all ("Are they the food? No, we are the hunters!")

Imagine if that stupid movie, Pacific Rimjob or whatever, actually happened.

We would have a giant Ronald McDonald to fight off the sea monsters.

This is a good investment. We're doing it right America.

Every other damn movie since The Dark Knight has been "Batman has to overcome his issues", "superman has to overcome his issues", "
spiderman has to overcome his issues", etc.

Pacfic Rim's story line wasn't compelling. It won't make you contemplate the meaning of life or whatever. But it was really fun to watch, and a good break from the endless stream of "gritty realism" movies.

To sum it up, the action scenes were underwhelming, the premise was retarded, the acting terrible (they had the comic relief as some stilted german scientist that at first used generally uptight diction then started quipping british colloquialisms), and the dialogue was some of the cheesiest you'll find in action movies. For example, they had these two *******, in the middle of a highly intense combat situation, stare at one another for two minutes saying "It's an honor to have served with you" while resolutely shaking their heads, as if they could take a break, along with all the other myriad discrepancies that I have forgotten (I try to suppress the memories).
It's absolute ****.

My sister is an English teacher and judging by her reactions to it, you need to have patience and nerves of steel. When she first started she loved her kids and loved teaching. Two years later, she's constantly bitching about what dumb little ******* her kids are, and how she can't deal with their ****. But she also teaches the lower delinquent class of kids that barely made it to ninth grade, so it's no surprise that they give her problems.

Basically, I'd keep your options open. Because you might like it at first, but year after year of dealing with kids' bullcrap might break your spirit like it did hers.

No, it's probably that they think I'm being pretentious and acting like I'm better than everybody. It took me a long time to figure out why people don't often like me or what I say, but if you give the slightest impression that you are elitist or something everyone gets mad.

I think it's just opinions. If they don't agree, suddenly you're a piece of **** who is wrong about everything. That's why I usually don't express my opinion on here. Because no one here can laugh at themselves. Like my initial comment that started this; instead of just laughing at the concept of what I'm saying, they just latch onto the part where I insulted Pacific Rim. People are a bit insecure here it seems.
