65% of guys that haven't ended a relationship with someone they know they shouldn't marry say it is because they don't want to hurt the other person.
89% of women say it is because they haven't found the next guy to move on to.

Though I think you pulled the numbers out of your ass, I believe there is truth in this.

Source: I broke up with my girlfriend July 29. It took me over a month to do it because...I couldn't bear to hurt her and know that I was the source of her pain. When I talked to my mom about it she asked me, "Well do you have someone else you're looking at? Women almost always have someone else when they end a relationship. I know I did before I met your dad."

94% of me thinks that there's missing punctuation in the top sentence... Because **** me, that's long.
No, that is not what she said.

quoted from a picture that had no reasonable proof

For all those asking for citation, while I do not have the picture, I DO know exactly what he's talking about because I saw the same one featuring a poll asking that question (while the statistics may be a bit exaggerated on both sides, he is correct in saying most women stay in a relationship they don't want to be in only because they haven't found someone better). When asked, one woman even said "Well, you wouldn't go shopping for shoes while barefoot, would you?" (the content makes that quote all the better)

I saw that as well. It gives the number of men and the number of women who gave each of those responses, without giving any indication of how many men and women were surveyed. So we've no idea what the percentages actually are.

but that poll showed the responses from considerably less women than men

And 73% of statistics are made up.

Finding a girl who won't leave you as soon as she finds someone better...is rare.
User avatar #112 to #3 - wolvesbrickwall (08/07/2013) [-]
Just happened to me. Was waiting for about a month for a girl because she said she "wasn't ready to date". Now she's dating a guy in a different state who she's met once and has talked to for less than a week. Feelsbadman.jpg

User avatar #6 to #3 - repostforlife (08/07/2013) [-]
do they like, only stay with a guy since he is the best for now?
User avatar #102 to #6 - daentraya (08/07/2013) [-]
In youth, that's often the case. How many people end up marrying the first guy they ever go out with? A small percentage. It takes time to find that certain someone

That's an incredibly bleak and general outlook on relationships. You can't assume every relationship you have will end the same way as the last or you'll never start the next one.
User avatar #11 to #10 - repostforlife (08/07/2013) [-]
I don't, hell I'm not even IN one right now. just that those words seem rather, crude to be honest
User avatar #12 to #11 - coolfuzzy (08/07/2013) [-]
They're probably the words of someone who's been jaded and never bounced back. It's not his fault but you still shouldn't take his advice too strongly.

I like to hear all opinions with stuff. even ones I don't like. I hope if that person WAS hurt, they can get over it someday and feel better

yeeeeeeeeah... It's a lot more cut-and-dry than I like to be. I look at it like this (if relationships were purely sexual take note that this is a VERY basic way of looking at it) Guys will often try to find a good mate. THey start at the top of the ladder and work their way down until they find a woman willing to submit to them (Sexually) Women start with a basic and work themselves up the ladder, looking for a mate they are willing to submit to) It's sounds a lot better in my head, but you get the picture.
#22 to #9 - swiftarrow (08/07/2013) [-]
That's kinda how it worked for me yes. I started with a 9/10 > 8/10 > 7/10...none of the relations seemed to last long. And now i'm in a 2.5 year relationship with a 5/10. (Number given on looks, not personality).

im around 6/10 id rate myself that.. i would never go with any girl below 7/10 unless its for sex, then 5/10 or higher. but for a relationship, id rather go single than with 5/10 or worse...

call me shallow but im pretty happy on my decision here.
