Northern Ireland is not in Britain. It is in the UK, as in The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

I just like to share the knowledge.

Great Britain is the United Kingdom.

No, Great Britain is purely a geographical term. It is the largest island in the British isle and contains the majority of England, Wales and Scotland. Islands such as the Isle of Wight are part of England but not part of Great Britain. Same goes for Anglesey which is part of Wales. Ireland is the second largest island in the British Isles and contains the Country of Ireland and Northern island which is in the United Kingdom. So while using great Britain usually service as a by-word for the United Kingdom it's factually incorrect.

No it really isn't. That's a common misconception and you'd be forgiven for thinking it, but it is still not very nice to simply say I'm wrong and give me a red thumb, without even considering I may be correct. I know you didn't because if you'd even begun to type in the search bar 'great Britain or the UK' you'd see I'm correct:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNu8XDBSn10 - Watch this useful video

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom - Look at that on the right and ask yourself why it would be called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland if GB and the UK were the same thing.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Britain Take a look at the map and ask yourself why Ireland doesn't appear on it if they're all the same thing.
