Well, truth be told you and the post are neither right nor wrong. Colors don't have actual definitions in what they represent - it's all based on a persons own experiences, culture, etc. Black can symbolize both what you said and what the post said based on who you are and how you interpret it. There are no real definitions on color symbolism.
