Raising awareness is probably more effective than donating a couple of hundred atheletes money towards a cause. As G.I. Joe always said, knowing is half the battle.

The other half is violence

They can wear pink AND donate.

if that doesnt work, beat up cancer victims. that should make some headlines

Why don't you donate your October salary... Saying rich people should do this or that just because they have money is bs. Even if they got rich by playing football.
If you care that much why don't you go do something about it instead of pointing out what other people can do.

Maybe instead of making a facebook post on why people should donate their october salaries to cancer research you should be donating your october salary to cancer research.
[spoiler] You don't know if they donate or not. And they made that money themselves, they'll spend it how they want. [spoiler]

Why not donate your own money and work to raise awareness yourself instead of telling people trying to improve a situation how they can improve it better?

Because donating 1/12th of your salary (actually 1/8th because from March through June the players don't do anything) to a charity is way too much. Would you donate 1/8th of your paycheck every time to charity?

To be fair all their equipment worn in October is auctioned of and most of the money goes to finding a cure for breast cancer

I'll tell you what would happen. Nothing.

It'll take more money than that to cure cancer.

As catchy as this "zinger" may be, it presumes that none of the NFL athletes donate to anything. That's a pretty bold assumption based on no evidence in particular. But then, this IS the internet.

Is anyone watching what they are doing with that money? Sorry to be that guy with the tin foil hat, but the cancer industry is pretty damn lucrative with all of those donations.

You think we would have more results with the amount of cash that gets donated.

NFL players don't get paid by the month. They're paid their yearly salary straight up, also don't receive pay on the off season

I'm pretty sure they have spare money to pay the amount the WOULD be paid in October based on proportion of time vs season salary... that is if they can math....
