my favorite pitch from feminism: 'feminism is about gender equality.' so why's it called 'feminism'? could a man be a masculinist and be all about gender equality? the label itself is sexist; calling gender equality feminism implies that advocating gender equality is strictly woman-like behavior.

because it was made back when women didn't have any rights. it was about bringing women up to the level of men and focusing on women's issues that men had been ignoring

feminism = female supremacy.

egalitarianism = equal rights for both genders.

You can't simplify egalitarianism like that. Egalitarianism is equal rights for "all life". This includes sexes, gender identities (more than just male and female), sexual preferences, races, and possibly even extra-terrestrial life.

You could call it just 'equalism'.
