There's a whole lot of other reasons, stereotypes you know. Stereotypes for a very good reason to be honest.

A healthier option would be something along the lines of Tofu (not forcing you, just an option that is out there) from my Carnivorous friends, they seem to taste no difference

I like Tofu stir fried with beef or pork. It adds protein and makes a little meat go a longer way. Tofu, depending on where you buy it, can be a great food budget expander.

Vegetarians avoid meat.
Vegans avoid anything that comes from animals which not only takes meat but all diary products off the menu as well.

Yeah, I only mentioned diary products as they offered a good example and covered a broader spectrum. I wasn't going to list everything a vegan can't eat.
But yeah
Vegetarians = No Meat
Vegans = Nothing that comes from animal labor

However, if the book were leather bound I am sure that vegans cannot consume diary products either.

Omnivores make fun of Vegetarians, thinking they're Vegan
Vegetarians make fun of Vegans, out of anger
and Vegans go and sit in the corner and try to cry but can't as they have an iron deficiency

Saying that vegetarians are less likely to be anemic in comparison to vegans is silly, especially because things high in calcium, like dairy, hinder the absorption of iron. Unless you're an Ovo vegetarain, even then the iron content is little.

If you eat 100 grams of dark chocolate for example, which is very high in non-heme iron, and have something with vitamin C after eating it, you have little to worry about iron deficiency anemia. Vegan, never had issues with iron. I've had blood tests every few months and a echocardiogram. ( born with a elongated heart muscle valve ) to make sure I am not deficient in magnesium, calcium, or any electrolytes. My results always come back "superb", and never have I had iron troubles.

1.Non-heme iron comes from plant foods, heme iron comes from animal foods
2.Heme iron can be absorbed more effciently by the body
3.The body can better regulate absorption of non-heme iron, helping to protect against toxic effects

It started off as a religion type deal, as my mother was a Buddhist and my Father thought this would make my life easier, as I became an Atheist, it became more of a habit, along with the whole "But liiiiiiisssssaaaaa, I thoooooughttt yyyyoooouuuu looooooooooooooved meeeeeeeee"

My parents feed me meat growing up, but it never digested well for me. I wish mine would of raised me without meat consumption, honestly. *sigh*

I adopted a vegetarian lifestyle when I was a teen, and have been that way ever since. it's been 8 years without meat consumption, and honestly I don't believe I could ever eat meat again. I wouldn't call it a habit, but I just find the idea repulsive, and I don't crave it either.

Another random question, if you don't mind answering, How was life with Buddhist parent(s)?

just the one parent, my mom is Zen Buddhist, while my dad is Atheist

It was pretty Mellow, as families go, my parents loved me and my three other siblings equally, there was no favorite, the only real problem that my dad did (and still does) eat meat, and so the house saying was "Thomas, come cook your dead stuff" he doesn't seem to mind it

Though I respect your dietary decisions, I have to say, I never avoid anything until I've tried it. I, for one, have a strong dislike for cheese. I have tried it, don't like it, and don't eat it. I like most other foods, but not cheese. What I'm trying to say is, give things a chance, even if you are fairly sure you wont like it. It's better to be definitely sure than fairly sure.
