Just so people understand, there is something else that occurs when doing this. It is somewhat uncommon but it happens every now and then while lucid dreaming. It is essentially the opposite of control, you experience a night terror. It is far worse than any nightmare you may have because you basically feel like you are awake/in real life. It usually plays out that some overwhelming terrible event is happening and there is nothing you can do about it. It causes extremely high stress levels and leaves you utterly exhausted. Some people are lucky and just wake up in a sweat or panic, but there can be side effects from it, which usually happens to those that remember the dream, but have difficulty determining where the separation of reality and dream is.

tl:dr
Lucid dreaming is great, however there are downsides to doing it, as someone that has experienced it first hand it can change how you sleep forever.
