A knight without armor is as useless as a paladin without a god.

When King Henry V invaded France his knights only won the battle of Agincourt because they were using longbows and leather armor vs France's Calvary and heavy armored knights. The mud was up to their knees and when a knight of France was knocked over he would drown in the mud because he was too heavy to lift himself out and they were too slow to catch up to the hit and run longbows of Henry V's army.

Come on you fag, that's like saying Batman is useless without his gadgets.

Sure, he's not AS useful, but he is still a highly trained combat expert with a high social standing.

You still gotta invest points in endurance even if you use Havels ring.

But the book says you only need to be Lawful Good and dedicated to righteousness...

That ****** a pain in the ass though. Had a friend that played one and just hated how he had to be perfectly good.

Plus when he multiclassed, he wouldn't be able to level his paladin side.

Sounds like your friend confused Lawful Good with Lawful Stupid. Lawful good isn't about saving puppies, giving dramatic speeches or smiting anything and everything, it's about having a set of standards that you adhere to. It's about being the best person you can be. It's about being a knight in golden armor, having the rain come down and then sitting down to wash off the tarnish. It's about being a hero.

When you are a Paladin, you're the Green Lantern. You're playing King Author. Hell, by some interpretations you're even Batman.

Yeah, but that's 3.5, nobody likes 3.5.

A lot of people love 3.5, much to the frustration of Runequest, Savage Worlds, 4.0 and Warhammer Fantasy fans.
