Actually, Pluto was reclassified as a Dwarf Planet. Still a planet.

Not true. On Mars it takes 90 seconds to die.

Nothing's worse than being aware that people say weight when they mean mass. It's the 21st century, people!
User avatar #62 to #57 - leglesslegolegolas (07/27/2013) [-]
Pretty sure they still mean weight. Weight is the measure of gravitational pull on your body, which is the varying factor here.

User avatar #75 to #73 - anomorphous (07/27/2013) [-]
because planets are two types. Gas giants, and terrestrial. Pluto is A. a ball of ice and carbon, basically a huge comet, and B. occupies the Kuiper belt, which means it's basically a large Keiper belt object

You could probably stay conscious long enough on the surface of Mars
to step outside and onto a set of scales and then make it inside again.

You forgot to mention that on Earth, you'd still die before being able to weigh yourself if you were in Australia.

I'm not usually this guy and I'm a biologist not a physicist...someone tell me why, as a planet, we are shortlisting 4 people to go to mars and live out the rest of their days there? Seriously, why would we even consider it if humans would just die the minute they landed?
