I'm actually not that big of a Harry Potter fan either. I believe the movies are extremely over rated and the obsessive fans piss me off. Emma Watson isn't that hot and the movies weren't that amazing...

How the **** does me not liking Harry Potter make me a troll? You don't have to agree with every single person in the world you know... i'm allowed to have a different opinion.

I'm not saying you were trying to start anything, but it isn't the best idea to post an unpopular opinion in an insulting mannor..

Everyone knows the movies are crap. It's the books it's all about.
#17 to #10 - anonymous (07/27/2013) [-]
Books are too ******* long. They're like 800 god damn pages... Per book.

Wow, college is going to rape your ass and enjoy it.
#50 to #32 - anonymous (07/27/2013) [-]
I'm in college now... going into 2nd year this fall. We don't read 800 ******* pages, you would know that if you yourself were in college. We read a chapter or 2 then discuss it. Actually most of my professors I've had these past 2 semesters barely even use the textbook.

I honestly find reading mind numbingly boring. I would rather do pretty much anything other than read. Watch TV, be on the internet, play a game, hangout with friends, go outside, almost anything.
User avatar #22 to #17 - ilovehitler (07/27/2013) [-]
Long books are even better, because it just means you can spend a longer time reading them.
And they really aren't near 800 pages per book. I think the longest one is only, like, six or seven hundred pages
User avatar #35 to #22 - yusay ONLINE (07/27/2013) [-]
After 4 they are. Longest being Order of the Phoenix at 870 pages US.

You ever read Stephen King's The Stand? The extended edition is around 1100 pages or so.
And I can't think of a better way to spend a few days than eleven hundred pages of Stephen King.

Actually socializing? You know, with other people? ******* shut in...
User avatar #55 to #52 - ilovehitler (07/27/2013) [-]
Eh, I prefer books to people.
#57 to #55 - anonymous (07/28/2013) [-]
And that is why you're a ******* shut in who prefers to live in a little fantasy world to hide from reality because the real world is too scary huh?
User avatar #59 to #57 - hudis ONLINE (07/28/2013) [-]
Read up on introverts and extroverts. Or, if you're the same guy who said that reading is too boring for you to bother with it, I'm sure there are videos on youtube you can watch on the subject.
#60 to #59 - anonymous (07/28/2013) [-]
Introvert is just a term that antisocial ******** use in order to feel better about themselves because they don't know how to socialize.
User avatar #62 to #60 - hudis ONLINE (07/28/2013) [-]

It's true. People just want to feel special and like they're different when they aren't. You aren't some special unique snowflake, get over yourself.

Does having thumbs fill the void in you?

Now, on to the actual discussion at hand.

I never said I don't socialize, and I never said I hide from reality. I'll go out and socialize when I feel it to be necessary, but, admittedly, I do prefer a more secluded life. I dislike people and the real world not because it's scary, but because it's annoying. Men, women, and children buzzing about without a care for others (And yes, I realize the irony of that statement in relation to my username) or themselves.
It annoys me.
Their shouting voices annoys me.
Their laughter annoys me.

It's not scary. Not at all.
It's just annoying.
#29 to #22 - anonymous (07/27/2013) [-]
That's still a lot of pages... and sitting down for hours reading a book is boring as **** . I don't know how people do that **** ...
User avatar #33 to #29 - ilovehitler (07/27/2013) [-]
Eh, some people just don't find it boring at all.
User avatar #12 to #10 - hudis ONLINE (07/27/2013) [-]
I'm a big Harry Potter fan, but the books are not great either, to be honest. You have to remember that they were primarily written for adolescents. They are barely literature, but they do tell a fantastic story which I love.
User avatar #13 to #12 - KellyisAwesome (07/27/2013) [-]
I like how you say that you're a big Potter fan and then that the books aren't great.
But I do agree, I never said the books where literary masterpieces.
But the movies have nothing on the books. All the humor, the backstory of so many chracters, the story, sidestories and so much more they left out of the movies. Ofcourse the Harry Potter series aren't the best books ever, they are for children and teenagers. But noone should ever compare the movies to the books, that's demeaning to the great and powerful story J.K. Rowling told us.
User avatar #26 to #13 - hudis ONLINE (07/27/2013) [-]
Yeah, that's a fair point. What I meant that the books aren't that great from a purely literary perspective, but like I said they are brilliant stories.
User avatar #8 to #7 - rhetoricalfunny (07/27/2013) [-]
I could respect your opinion up until you said Emma Watson wasn't hot

All in all your ********* bait was painfully obvious
#18 to #8 - anonymous (07/27/2013) [-]
So anyone who doesn't agree with your opinion is automatically a troll trying to start up a **** storm? That's really ******** and childish... wow... I'm sorry but I don't find Emma Watson that hot. She was hotter when she had long hair. I don't like girls who get those short boy styled hair cuts. I like long haired girls. This is my preference... how the **** does that mean i'm trying to start a ********* ?
User avatar #19 to #18 - rhetoricalfunny (07/27/2013) [-]
I'm not saying that. In fact, I have not stated my opinion, beyond a single thing.

Rather the way with which you stated what you did was meant to start a ********* .

I would in fact say you are the presumptuous ass, who assumes anyone who disagrees with what you said, is automatically a harry potter fan. And that is what is ******** and childish.
User avatar #34 to #19 - ilovehitler (07/27/2013) [-]

All I did was post what I thought about Harry Potter, if you get offended that's not my fault. It wasn't supposed to start a **** storm and hasn't really, if you look above a lot of people are civilly discussing Harry Potter.

Wormwood doesn't mean Absinthe. It's an ingredient in Absinthe depending on what brand you buy.
User avatar #65 to #9 - gigglesthegreat (07/29/2013) [-]
Real absinthe was made with essence of wormwood, it was (is) a deadly poison if you don't dilute it like you're supposed to. So YES, wormwood DOES mean absinthe, not the ***** **** that meets code in the united states.
