we had to put my dog down a year ago, her cancer got so bad but she lived to the old age of 16 or 17, she use to follow me everywhere. One time I broke out of my house and literally walked down the highway and she followed me. A cop picked us up and said it was adorable seeing how loyal she was to me. I was maybe 2 or 3 years old

just realized how much i miss her, chelsy you were a good girl

Dammit man! Feel Story Time.

>Be me, 15 yr old male, parents divorced
>Own a sweet ass cat named Harley, stays at mom's house
>Be at dad's house for 2 weeks
>*Meanwhile at home*
>Sister and brother in law, as well as their friends visit my mom
>they bring troublesome pit bull, un-neutered
>one night Harley scratches at mom's door, bastard mom's boyfriend decides it's a good idea to put him outside, at night.
>Harley has always been an indoor cat
>gets put outside and gets chased into the woods by pit bull
>next day, brother in law and his friends search for him.
>find him dead in the woods
>bastard tried to blame it on the dog
>dog is innocent, since they were best pals
>mom breaks up with scum boyfriend
>be now when I see these stories and your comment.

Sorry for the *********** of the story, but it's 100% true and I can somewhat relate to you man. We grieve the dead, even the dead of other kinds. You have my condolences sir.

And the weird part is, the next day when they found him, the pit bull looked had a "sad" look on his face. (Yes, I know you can't really say that the dog was sad about the death of my cat, but seriously, it was weird.) the reason I know is that my sister sent me a pic of the phenomenon, saying how weird it is.

Who knows, maybe animals know as much about death as we do, maybe even grieve about it too. (Sorry if I sound like some kind of hippy you guys)

They have feelings and thoughts too, most people forget it, and just think they are some play things, and when the kittens/puppies grow up, they throw them on the streets, or drown them, because they can't afford to feed them. Do poor people drown their kids, when they can't afford to feed them, you egoistic poor representations of the human race?

Sorry for your loss.

Animals can actually grieve the death of other animals just the way they would grieve the death of their owners. I had a cat some years back I kept at home, he was kinda born right before us to stray cats living in the neighborhood. His father used to come every night to call him out to play. Did this for eight months till one day he never came home. Neighbors called to say he died in their backyard. We buried the kid in our back yard. For the entire week after that, the father cat would come to our backyard and meow all night until he also left.

Dammit man.... that's both relieving to hear that I'm right, and sad about the cat....

my cat was the same after our jack Russell died (we named him Barnie after barnie from the Simpsons NOT the dinosaur) she'd walk into the kitchen look at his food and water bowls and then meow at me as if she was saying "where's he gone?" her tail even went down the day we came home without him.

pic related my little man barnie during one of the happiest times of his life, going on holiday
