Jury duty is actually ****. I don't know the details, but my mom had jury duty twice, and she hated it both times. It takes time away from your work and your family, you have to go through a bunch of protocols and procedures, and you end up sitting in a box for hours. In the end, you're partially responsible for the possibility of letting a rapist or murderer walk free, or ruin an innocent person's life based on false information.

And the rooms aren't always air conditioned.

"you're partially responsible for the possibility of letting a rapist or murderer walk free, or ruin an innocent person's life based on false information. " that here is reason enough for me to want to do that.

I have only served once and I look forward to doing it again, As the child of two cops I have an enormous interest in the U.S legal system, I went to college for Criminal justice and I plan on a career in law. It's also the reason I get extremely upset when people don't know the very basics of how the legal system works in this country. Other then military service in defense of U.S soil there is really no greater act your country can ask of you, not even being involved in politics.
