It's crazy as hell but not much like Ranger's Apprentice (amazing series by the way). Basically, this kid lives in the slums of a medieval world and crap goes down. He ends up becoming basically death incarnate. It's an extremely messed up and sad story of that kid as he grows up being a grim reaper of an assassin and his attempt at holding on to the last of his humanity.

15 year old orphin who's been dreaming of being a knight all his life gets shut down after being too scrawny to handle the training. In his annoyance, he sneaks into the castle to try and convince the battlemaster otherwise but is caught by the ranger assigned to their castle, Halt. He then decides that with practice, the boy could become a great ranger. The entire first book is about his transition from a frightened small kid to a complete badass of the shadows. And it's a much better ending than the Shadows series. Sorry if that's a bit wordy but that was my favorite book series for a loooong time. They're only about 200 pages and there's 10 books last I checked.

11 now is a matter of fact. I think I'm going to read this series in English because in my own language (dutch) they raped the translation. Horic I believe was his name was translated to Arnaut... I don't get why you need to change someones name.

That was truly the best thing I ever read. to be honest I always hoped Kylar would go for Vi but I knew that was not going to happen. That's also why I liked the ending because it gave that opening.

Me too, if only cuz she's a red head.

My only concern with a movie would be that they'd cast a douchebag as Kylar.

Yeah I dread that too, turning it into some sort of Twilight sparking piece of ****. And the same thing for Logan, who is seriously brutal. I mean how he killed Kylar by breaking all his limbs was awesome.

Hopefully who ever makes the movie realizes that's this isn't sparkly fanatsy, but gritty fantasy and they cast accordingly. Kylar and Logan aren't gonna be super models.

I hope so, I mean they touch on some seriously messed up material like cannibalism and the maiming and death of children. that's not something you can just throw glitter on and make it pretty. These books are blood, fear, brutality and a **** load of sex. You can't just make that some modern day fun for everyone movie or even better a series.

Precisely, that why I don't really see it turning into a movie (contradicting what I said earlier but still). A series would be much more effective also to ensure no or little loss of the original story and will be able to show much more gore than a movie could. Like Game of Thrones (which I'm currently reading book 3) or spartacus.

I don't want to spoil anything for you, but book 4 has a sex scene involving Samwell that rivals Vi's awkward three way.

The series is about 3 people Arlen, Leesha and Rojer. They live in a world where demons rise from the core of the earth to the surface every night to hunt and kill humans. The only defense the humans have are wards, symbols that convert the magic of demons into a unbreakable shield. This has everyone on their houses and humans don't go out at night because the ancient battle wards have been lost to mankind. Arlen the protagonist of the story sets out become a messenger, someone who travels between cities for trade and all sorts other things and the only people who sleep outside, and recover those battle wards.
