trolling aside..
I hate when people do that..

If the patient dies = Doctors fault
If the patient lives = It's a miracle!

Honestly I've rarely heard patient's families blame the doctors when a patient dies.

Only when it was the doctor's fault, and that's called malpractice.

If a person can sue the municipality (and win), because said person sat down on a bench, where a pigeon shat.. I'm sure there will be people (U.S. - I'm looking at you!), who'll blame the doctor for the death, whether malpractice was the case or not..

That's what waivers are for.

I'm not aware of what a waiver is :/

Basically says "It's not my fault if he/she croaks."

Who are the waiver for? xD I'm lost..
User avatar #178 to #176 - darkangeloffire ONLINE (07/23/2013) [-]
The doctor gives the waiver to the patient's family. The waiver usually says that the doctor is not responsible for injury or death. And unless the doctor is being intentionally malicious, it wouldn't be their fault in the first place but they need the waiver for protection from raging families.

No problem, always willing to aid those who need an explanation if I can provide it.

I'm sure a lot of families still try though, after all, even if the case is thrown out, it still shows up as a malpractice case brought against the doctor/surgeon right?
the record may state that the case was thrown out, or that the doctor won or whatever, but it still looks bad for him, right?

Yeah. They don't need to succeed but tarnishing a reputation is easy enough.

Just pointing out that I didn't think, that *you* said that

Same thing with "God's Will" when people are praying..
As George Carlin said:

"Fine, but if it's God's will, and He's going to do what He wants to anyway, why the **** bother praying in the first place? Seems like a big waste of time to me! Couldn't you just skip the praying part and go right to His Will?"
