This was nice until my brain came up with the question: "Where did they get a donor for a 16-month-old baby?"

To save a child with no chance you sacrifice another child with no chance?

it could have been a child that was around the same age that had been pronounced brain dead due to injury or illness. The child with the artificial heart didn't have no chance it had slim chance but a chance none the less organ donations don't work by sacrificing they work through people who are pronounced brain dead,(or cardiac arrest it depends if you're a donor you can choose)

We get heart valves from pigs. Not the entire thing. We can't use an entire pig heart, the immune system wouldn't like it. No one wants to risk their body rejecting all of their heart. A fixable chunk yes, the entire thing no.

I never said the scientists didn't do anything. In fact I said the opposite.
"Thank god for scientists" means that I'm glad for these people to be alive as they have helped in major way. Thank god for giving these men the intelligence and will to do something and the ability to do so, and thank them for doing so.

Of course, had you read past "god" you would have known that.

Thank you for proving my hypothesis on the pretentiousness of Funnyjunkers correct by the way, and responding within the hour nonetheless.

Your Statement "Thank god for scientists" basically states that god made them that way
which is just not true.
You have to appreciate all the work they did and that they studied hard to learn
and that they were willing to put so much work into something to save someones life

These people are not "Blessed" by "God" but are simply magnificent people that
cares about humanity, but if all you meant by that statement was that
we should appreciate those people for what they have done
than you have to excuse me for not understanding it.

A dog can learn a trick and refuse to do it. Think about that for a bit.

See, now you're thinking too deep into the phrase. Maybe I wasn't degenerating the scientists involved. Perhaps I'm grateful for their existence, and was saying "thank god" as an expression of my happiness and gratitude.

In any case, I fail to see how this insults you in any way. Even if you were one of the people involved, I would have called you a gift from god or at the very least a valued person, both of which are high praises coming from a neutral party.

Long story short, not everything is an argument. Read past "god" and look at the whole thing, and maybe you'll find something.
