"Christianity" was his intended path for Judaism, but it had a lot of differences. While the Jews back then were considered an ethnic group, "Christianity" was available to all races and heritage lines. It also broke a lotta Jew religious laws.   
   
Evidently, it didn't catch on with many of the then-current Jews, and a huge controversy erupted from the old-Judaism and the new-Judaism's cultural differences, so they named the new-Juadism "Christianity".
