The beatles were okay, but I mean, some people praise them WAAAAAAAY too much.

Well I'd rather see you dead, little girl
Than to be with another man
You better keep your head, little girl
Or I won't know where I am
You better run for your life if you can, little girl
Hide your head in the sand little girl
Catch you with another man
That's the end'a little girl
Beatles were great crazyass Stallker types.

While i appreciate what the Beatles did to music, i still find that the music itself is only liked for those reasons, since it's somewhat poor quality overall. They did so much to music, while not being the most skilled at it. Thats rather fascinating

Really? I've always massively enjoyed their music and I started listening to a lot of it before I knew it was even the beatles (like it would come on the radio and I'd think "oh that's an awesome song" and then afterwards I'd be told it was the Beatles.)

People have different tastes in music, so it's not that great a mystery. It's not bad, just overrated. I just see in this way; If people were to tell their unbiased opinion of the music itself, then it wouldn't be that dahm good. If, for example, the beatles were released today, and people got to hear it before it drowned in the masses of music due to it's mediocrity, they would think little of it.
Music is many things, and can carry many feelings and memories and biases. Strip this off the Beatles, and it's nothing

Hmm interesting take on it. I disagree, I think they would still be liked. Probably not fabulously so because it wouldn't sound exactly modern but I do think it would have a market. I mean when the music first came out it had to find an audience on its own merits and its not like the Beatles were so groundbreakingly influential that everything before hand was Buddy Holly style Rock n' Roll and that the Beatles only became famous because they sounded new and different. I think a lot of people take issue with it today because of how simple a lot of the songs are but that doesn't really bother me.... but you know music as a taste is way more nebulous and harder to examine than movies or literature

I highly doubt it, tho. I think the same goes for things like star wars if it was released today. It would be a cliche weird scifi story with incest. But i honestly cant say much about, since i never arsed to watch the dahm thing
