I just don't get parents;
"I want my child to be happy", what it actually means is "I want my child to appear normal, because normal by social standards is happy."

What's not to get? You may not agree with what they're saying, but it seems like you understand their line of thinking perfectly.

But they don't want their kids to be happy, they want them to be normal because aparently that equates to happiness.

Being gay is not "normal", so somehow it means that if their child is with someone of the same sex, they are not pursuing happiness, which is normality.

Yeah, IDK why you guys are repeating this. It's only showing that you do indeed "get" it.
