or the season 5 finale where he re created the universe
or the season 6 finale where he kinda did something I didn't totally understand what happened but Winston Churchill was Caesar.

It only bothers me when they knock it before they try it.
And I see those comments that say " I saw a few episodes and I didn't like it" and they get a few thumbs, some are of people who respect their opinion or agree but I bet most of the people who thumb them have never watched it and just assume that person is the best judge of it's quality and they thumb it up to cushion their decision not to watch it. ( this goes for anything, not just Doctor Who)

I agree.
Wish people would be more open to trying new experiences.
Your childhood seems longer than any other time of your life because all the experiences are new
New experiences require your brain to take in more data, and make more detailed accounts of what happens, thus dilating retrospective time.
New experiences make you life longer, and repeating the same things makes your life shorter.
Be adventurous people!

All fandoms are fine and they are aloud to compare themselves. (See the master chief versus a space marine videos on youtube as an example of something that doesn't die.) But what is annoying is fandoms invading others, see MLP as an example of that. Yes, I don't care that you are in that fandom, but keep your god damn fandom in your fandom. I don't want to see MLP in my mass effect or Warhammer 40k fandom.

I'm a brony, I watched avatar before LoK came out, and I watch doctor who. I try not to post DW pics (i have a seperate reaction folder for ordinary and DW) except when i'm talking to other whovians. Since the past few, lets say weeks, people started hating the show in large numbers. Honestly I post one comment thats more or less relevant and i get nuked with red. Please dont hate me. It's kinda like a religion in some ways
It's just as happy and accepting to it's followers as a religion, and sometimes as invasive and fanatic as a religion.
Only difference being when you convert to being a Whovian you don't necessarily have to believe anything different than before, but you'll see the world differently, it's some powerful fiction.
The main narrative of the show is "intellect and romance will always eventually triumph over any establishment of brute force and cynicism ", combine that with a plot device that allows you to go AnywhereAnywhen ( freeing you from the vice of Genre) and you get a really energized, quasi-religious fanbase.

I felt insulted when you implied that I had less of a right to speak on the matter than you did when you acted as if just because you didn't care about the reasons behind it meant that it was totally irrelevant and that I should just shut up, because negative statements about something deserve NO retort and NO response

Other people feel as strongly about their shows as well, their shows have moral standpoints too, and a skilled film-maker wouldn't see genre as a vice. You just listed why you liked Doctor Who, not why it's fanbase is different from others.

It's different from others because it can go into any genre and tell a story anywhere and anywhen. Fans feel more absorbed and energized about it because it can be any story it needs to be, western one week, horror the next, and alien-empire political espionage the next.
It is a different experience to like Doctor Who than it is to like anything else; being a whovian, unlike being a fan of DBZ, or Batman, or Star Trek, is really a religious experience, because of how deeply the show affects its fans on not only a surface-level emotional way, but on a deep psychological scale, actually changing the way they percieve the world. Did I mention that psychologists have used Doctor Who as a sucessful treatment for depression?
Note: I'm not saying Doctor Who is better than everything else, it certainly is in my perspective but I'm well aware that my perspective is just one of many and doesn't hold any more credence than anyone else's
it's a big show, with near 800 episodes that cover almost any topic you can think of.

I love Legend of Aang, but I won't maintain that it is the single most greatest thing ever created just because I love it. That's exactly what you're doing, despite your 'Note' at the end of one of your comments trying to say you're not.

you don't get to ignore parts of my comment because they don't fit the strawman you've constructed for me

You spend 50 minutes saying something, and then tack on a little bit at the end saying "nah bro I didn't say that" and I'm allowed to ignore it.

I said it was a different experience, not an all around better one.
One thing about doctor who is that it's a mixed bag just like I said before, I barely liked any of the episodes of the last season because of the kind stories they chose to tell.
What I meant is that doctor who is weird, it does things no other show does, in a way that no other show does, and when someone happens to like that... they like it in a very weird crazy way because the show is weird and crazy.
I'm sure if you had some computer that had some capacity to enjoy fiction in a non-biased way, and reward things in a non-arbitrary point system, Doctor who would be somewhere in the top 100, but I"m sure there are things that are better at doing what they are meant to do. Doctor Who just does a lot of crazy stuff and gets it right most of the time.

That last comment is so ******* ********. How can you be that stupid? Fiction appeals to different people in different ways. If your hypothetical fiction-enjoying computer was engineered to enjoy Doctor-Who, it would enjoy Doctor-Who. If it was engineered to enjoy something else, it would enjoy something else. And you're talking about Doctor Who avoiding the vice of genre, that's ******** too. Doctor Who is in love with genre, it just changes genre. "In a way that no other show does"? You really need to look up what a genre is....
