no hate intended. is it just me, or do Christians always have that same look on their faces when they use the bible to prove their arguments?

The last part was the best. "One last thing, while you may be mistaking this a meeting for the tight-ass club, in this building when the President stands, no one sits."

I always felt that the President in West Wing was just too benevolent, the show was very liberal but it made some good points and had excellent drama, but what always threw me off was how ridiculously benevolent Bartlett was, it kept ruining my suspension of disbelief. That's why I don't feel he is the best representation of a United States President ever done by a TV show or movie, he was too much of an ideal to feel real to me.

Tough call, but it's a tossup between Leo, Donna, and Toby.

(and yes, I realize I keep posting Babylon 5 gifs... It's my favorite american TV show of all time)

man it pisses me off to no end when people of such little knowledge of their own faith go around telling people that homosexuality is wrong and not be pre-paired for this rebuttal. it will come every ******* time.
anyways it clearly states 4 times, twice in the old testament, and twice in the new.
all the passages the president is citing are from the old covenant, the one god established with mosses. everyone knows the story, jesus died and created a new covenant, abolishing the old one. but that doesn't mean everything of old law was done away with. there were 3 types of laws. ceremonial; civil; and moral. now ceremonial law though we are no longer bound to them, the principles behind the ceremonial laws, that is to worship and love god, still apply.
cultural Laws many of these laws deal with diet, hygene, dress, and other 'kosher' practices. God provided these laws to protect the people of Israel and to define them as distinct from their idolatrous neighboring tribes. In the book of Acts, chapters 10-15, the early church struggled to define which of these 'cultural' laws should be binding on non-Jewish believers. they determined not to require believers from other cultures to be bound by these Jewish laws.
moral laws these laws deal with timeless descriptions of right and wrong. The ten commandments would fit into this category. laws against child sacrifice, incest, pre-marital sex, and homosexual practice would be considered moral laws. these moral laws are almost all affirmed in some fashion in the New Testament as well.

And that kids is why Christians should use the New Testament when putting the bible to their lives. while the old testament has some good morals you really shouldn't use every bit of it. Most of the Old testament is God in a bad mood.

>People still referencing Old Testament, and attempt to use their laws.
>Laws in the Old Testament are void

if you look at the first episode where some random 13 year old bitch bashes the US government, you'd find that the show is pure ******** and they add in 20 min screen time just to voice the producer/writer's opinions.
