I bought the games on steam, but at 10 GB a game I decided it wasn't worth the time I would spend downloading it on my **** connection. Give me a good reason why I should?

It's probably my favorite game franchise of all time. The gameplay improves drastically with each game although there is a bit of a dip in the complexity of character builds in ME2 and some of the coolest guns from ME2 were nerfed into near uselessness in ME3. Those minor issues aside, the games are great overall, and there isn't another series out there that reflects the decisions you make in each successive game as much as the Mass Effect series.

If anything this is a reason not to play the game.

As far as I have seen, the gameplay is sub par, the story forced, and the dialogue... Don't get me started on some of the bad dialogue I have heard about.

Then why the **** did you buy them in the first place if all you're going to do is bitch and whine? True, the gameplay in the first one is rather average at best, but the gameplay in the second and third games can hold their own against other high-profile shooters like Uncharted and Gears of War. I fail to understand how the story is "forced", it's a video game with a heavy sci-fi theme, of course the story is going to lean more towards the "unbelievable" side, and the franchise is known for having one of the best stories out there (regardless of the mixed opinions regarding the ending). And for a game that lets you pick almost every single thing your character says in almost every single conversation, the dialogue is of the highest quality, and the voice actors do a damn fine job as well, don't base the entire game's dialogue off of what you've probably only seen in .gif's and comics.
