i was watching an episode the other day where a guy had a signed document (forgot what it was) by paul revere and the "expert" valued it at 25 - 30 grand in its condition, 30 - 35 thousand retail, after the expert left, the guy says, now that i really know what it is, i think i may just keep it, its a cool piece
rick then offers the guy 12 grand and a guitar for it. AND THE GUY TOOK THE OFFER.
he just got it valued IN HIS FACE at 25 -30 grand, he couldve asked for like 20 grand, as low as 15 grand and probably still gotten away with it, and all i could think was wow. what a dumbass.

would you rather 0$ and a piece of **** paper, or $12,000 to pay off those ****** fees and crack fees.

Wow, what a dumbass, understanding that used item retailers try to double their money on most items, while accounting for shelf time and potential auction fees as well as the potential depreciation of items. Yeah, what a dumbass!
User avatar #29 to #18 - WATCHAGUNADOBOUTIT (07/10/2013) [-]
Stuff like that doesn't depreciate it only goes up in price, and on items that big you don't take half the price for it, you take like 3/4 or else you ******* keep it, he's right that guy's a dumbass

i mean the guy for taking the offer
User avatar #20 to #19 - sniperfumbles (07/10/2013) [-]
What I'm saying is that the guy probably had a base understanding of those concepts and took those into consideration when he accepted it.

i'm just saying i would've asked at least a grand or two more, i understand the circumstances, but he could've gotten at LEAST a little more than that
User avatar #22 to #21 - makegr (07/10/2013) [-]
You're right he should've bargain a bit more.
#23 to #22 - rockstarownage (07/10/2013) [-]
i mean i feel like Rick wouldve gone for like 15 grand
User avatar #24 to #23 - makegr (07/10/2013) [-]
Right, but, anyway, the guitar he took was like 3 grands (No kidding) , I think it was from the 70s or 60s

my favorite part is when the customer says that they want $2000 but the lowest they will go is $1500 and then they end up leaving with $500

>Seller: Yeah I got the deed to the white house
>Rick: Hmm okay so what was you looking to do with it?
>Seller: Well I bought it for about 5 billion dollars and I know you have to make money so I was thinking maybe I could get 2 billion out of it?
>Rick: Yeah, maybe in auction, there's not really much of a market for this sort of thing, so I'll tell you what I'll give you 10 bucks
>Seller: Hmmm okay
> Rick: Chum you wanna go write him up?
User avatar #33 to #7 - vicsix ONLINE (07/10/2013) [-]
