civilisation: the social process whereby societies achieve an advanced stage of development and organization.

Just google it, dude. It can't be a "new" civilisation because it was arguably less advanced than the culture it came from in the UK. Granted, that's because they were just starting out as colonies but at no point has the US been at a higher level of civilisation than the rest of the world.

(In fact it is arguable that the most advanced civilisation at the moment is the Japanese but civilisation is such a vague term that has so many factors to it there really is no way to say one is better than the rest. Japan is just my preference in that sense.)
