Maybe he was more on top of things when he was younger.
What if the only reason he can't tell your gender is because he's old and senile?

I can't be the only one to notice the problem here, can I?
Most computers have pre-designated drive letters. A and B are for floppy discs, C is the main HDD and D is, in my experience as an IT Tech, an optical drive 99% of the time. Usually an external HDD will be assigned something from E through K.

Which is not a common setup, so I stand by my "99% of the time".

I asked my 2 friends in skype and its the same with them...

Maybe this just doesn't apply to many gamers?

Could be. I take care of 76 PC's at my job, and 75 of them have D as the optical drive. The other 1 has no optical drive, so D is assigned to the internal card reader.
I also have 6 pc's networked in my house, and none of them have a HDD with D as the designation.
The only time I have seen external drives assigned the drive letter D is when there is no media reader or optical drive present on the first boot.

Well I think that D is an internal harddrive if you got more than 1 internal hdd before you get one external.

This is how my harddrive thingy looks.

Love the drive names. I'm guessing it has to do with the setup at first boot. If you have more than one internal they go in order, then the optical or card readers. If you add HDD's later they get added to the order. An external would only be labeled D if there were only one internal drive, no optical, and no card reader, which 99% of all pcs have one or the other.

Most computers have some sort of CD or DVD optical drive, and internal card readers are becoming more and more popular.
