The only reason I want to go to France is to see the battlefields where my grandfathers fought in WW2 to liberate their snub, ungrateful, ignorant asses.

The French army helped you against the british, without them your **** America would still belong to the brits.

The French aren't as cool as they used to be.

That wasn't because the French were acting out of the kindness of their hearts, it was because they hated the British with a burning passion. It was more "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" that motivated them.

But besides that, the French Army wasn't helping American Revolutionaries. They sent them some guns and an officer or two. WWII, on the other hand, had the American Army on French soil fighting back the Germans and the Allies liberating Paris.

So yeah, bit of an unfair comparison.

THAT'S EXACTLY THE REASONING FO THE AMERICANS YOU DUMB CUNT.

AND FRANCE PAID FOR THE TOTALITY OF THE AMERICAN ARSENAL SO AMERICA NEVER WOULD HAVE EVEN STOOD A CHANCE
User avatar #237 to #235 - augustusxxiv ONLINE (07/08/2013) [-]
Both of your statements are false. The French were not Allies with the Americans by necessity during WWII, they were active allies and have been so for a few decades before.

And France did not pay for the totality of the American Arsenal, they paid for a notable portion of it, but not nearly the entire thing.

Hmm, You are correct sir, I resign my argument on that front. Thank you for the link.

However, I still stand by the statement that the circumstances for alliance between the french and Americans was vastly different in the Revolutionary war in comparison to WWII.

well at least you know how to be flexible and accept new ideas. Props.

And the americans were acting out of the kindness of their hearts ? They just wanted to take France. Thanks to De Gaulle it didn't happen.

And Lafayette's army wasn't some guns.

My grandfathers shown me some things the Americans gave to him during the liberation of Normandy, French dollars, paper for advise of the instant election of a new American "Prefet"( actually is like the american governors) and some other weird **** like that.
I don't say that i'm not thankfull to the wariors who fought bravely with us. But the political reason are maybe not " being White Knight".

1. Lafayette led an American force
2. The Americans weren't going to take France for themselves. They weren't the Soviets.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marshall_Plan

Yeah, that was pure kindness.
User avatar #228 to #227 - augustusxxiv ONLINE (07/08/2013) [-]
The Marshall Plan? More or less, yeah. It was to help the French Government and people, along with many other European nations, out of crippling economic recession and food shortage, and to stave off the threat of Communism from the Soviets. It cost the US billions of dollars that they could have used towards other things.

You could argue that it was so the French would stay in favor of the US over the Soviets, but that's only logical, and that was part of it. Still though, that helped the French people quite a lot.

And how is that ironic?
#184 to #180 - lobsternewburg (07/08/2013) [-]
You're criticising the French for being ignorant by making an ignorant comment.
User avatar #186 to #184 - mrnoodlez (07/08/2013) [-]
And what made my comment ignorant? The french are known for being snub ignorant cunts.
User avatar #191 to #186 - lobsternewburg (07/08/2013) [-]
You called an entire race of people snub, ungrateful and ignorant.

That is an ignorant thing to say.
User avatar #220 to #191 - mrnoodlez (07/08/2013) [-]
That's basically the point of this content. The French are ass holes. Are you going to complain to the content maker too?
User avatar #221 to #220 - lobsternewburg (07/08/2013) [-]
The content was an obvious joke, your comment did not come across as a joke. It came across as venomous and hate-filled.

If you were joking, I take back what I said, if you were not (which I'm guessing is true) then I advise you change your attitude on the people of the world.

you behave in an ignorant way by generalising the whole french population
