Don't brutalize me if I'm wrong, but "let's" in the sentence would be incorrect, due to   
"let's" being the contraction of "let is", which makes no sense, and it would only make sense if "lets" had shown some form of possession to be able to become "let's", but who has ever heard of a Let before?
