Wuss. Allow me to introduce the Raging Judge by Taurus. This monster of a pistol has a 3 inch or 6 inch barrel (Your choice), 6 round chamber and a choice, yes, a CHOICE of ammunition. You want to use .454 cassul rounds? Go ahead. 45 MM? Would you like to use hollow tip or rounded tip? Niether is a problem. .410 shotgun shells, it doesn't matter if you use long or short shells, slug or bird shot, they fit and work. Does it have a kick? OH YES, but only true men use it, so go out and get the most manly handgun on the planet and don't let choosing ever stop you between you and your safety ever again.

It's not that they are inaccurate it's that they kick like a mule and are heavy as **** so you get fatigued alot faster using them. But are much more Powerful than there m4 m16 counterparts.

really? i hear a lot that they are inaccurate
i think that the m16 and m4 could carry more ammo
due to it being lighter however the ak 47 has them both on reliability
i think an ak 74 might be good perhaps because it fires 4.54 (i think that's what is is) so it doesn't have as much kick but it still has that reliability

The M16 and M4 both shoot a 5.56mm while the AK is a 7.62mm. An M4 weighs about 7 lbs empty and an AK weighs about 9 lbs empty. Both Guns can use different magazines meaning that the amount of cartridges or bullets they can hold varies But the M4/M16 can carry more with out adding too much weight. The AK Shoots 600 rpm and The M4 clocks in at 750 rpm. The M4A1 and M16A4 Have had horrible track records with reliability but if maintained properly this shouldn't be too much of a problem. While the AK is famous for having sand, water, and even vegetation in the action and still being able to operate and function damn near flawlessly. But specs aside It all depends on the shooter. Personally the AK is fun but i am a much better shot with an M4.

i just thought it would be cool something with reliability near that of an ak in perhaps a 5.56 caliber
also what would be the benefit of the 5.45 by 39mm it seems kind of a small round
i mean wouldn't the stopping power be severely lacking or would it be to carry more ammunition for less weight?
User avatar #143 to #142 - redstag

That's been the big question asked by militaries for the past century now. But the thing with the 7.62 is that yes it's a bigger bullet with more stopping power but the NATO 5.56 does something special when it hits the target it fragments and bounces around whatever cavity it enters BUT that's IF it gets through body armor or the helmets. The gun I want which is greatly misrepresented in COD is the AA-12 while it's best known for being a fully automatic shotgun not to many people know that the hardware can be switched out to fire the 5.56 that with a drum magazine or even the 12 gauge with drum magazine of 50 rounds would be ******* devastating.

They shoot very accurately up till 91 meters. That's when you start to get inconsistency and 3-6 inch groupings. But really it mostly comes down to if you're using optics or not and the shooter's capability.

Fun fact:

Apparently, Russians still use the Mosin Nagant today. The latest they've been spotted with them was with Russian Paratroopers in Chechnya.

Russians were never ones to give up their guns. Oh, and I'm actually trying to get my hands on an Egyptian Maadi AKM. It's a bit difficult, they're hard to find in good condition, and they're a bit out of my price range at the moment.

I have a friend who has two Izhmash rifles, one .223 [Looks like this: You need to login to view this link ], the other a shotgun [ You need to login to view this link ] (don't know what round). He has a scope for his .223 and a drum magazine for the shotgun, which holds at least 20 rounds. He wants to get a separate stock and grip for the .223 next. He also has a Mosin nagant made in WWII [has the bayonet and ammo pouches for it and all. Just missing a scope], he even told me how to tell the difference between one made back then and one made now.

The first one is a Saiga .223 Izhmash rifle. They're made in the Russian city of Izhevsk (Capitol city of the Federal district of the Udmurt Republic.) They're designed and sold as a hunting rifle. They come in various other calibers as well, but .223 is very common for it. I used to have one but sold it. I kind of miss it. What a lot of people do is they convert these over to the AK format by adding all the right parts which requires some gunsmithing. I never bothered to do that but I wish I did and I wish I kept it.

Second one is also made by the same company. Either a Saiga 12 or a Saiga .410. Saiga 12's are fun shotguns.

If you're ever curious about Mosin Nagants:

Hunting rifles eh? He doesn't hunt with it, I don't think. There's not too much to shoot at out here in Nevada. Fun gun to shoot though.
All I have are a couple .22 rifles, but that's okay.

.22 is the best thing to have for plinking and small game. Love that little round.

Yeah, one of my favorite calibers. I have a Marlin .22 ( You need to login to view this link Looks exactly like the image), and the other three are bolt action wood-stock rifles, one uses a clip, another a single shot, and the last one is missing a clip. I don't remember the names of the companies that made them or anything. I could go look but, eh.

I can agree with that. I really like the colors and textures of the wood parts, and it doesn't look bad at all.

My friend owns a rifle made in a similar year. He has the bayonet and ammo pouches for it. He doesn't have a scope though.

I got lucky with the Colt during the gun craze. Some guy off gunbroker was doing it in for a nice price and I won the bet. Sweet gun. I recommend getting a Colt one day for sure though. But never toss out your old AR's for money, infact dont do that for any gun unless they're cheap dime a dozen, non historical ones.

Eventually I'll have a decent stockpile of AR-15s.

ideally ill eventually have a stock pile of many different weapons, being a former Marine i am partial to the AR15 (better yet the M4) but i can diffidently appreciate the AK series for their reliability. but i think i will get 1 more AR than work on getting others. my ultimate goal is to get the M107 .50 cal. but for the rifle and a good scope im looking at a minimum $20,000

Yeah true that.

If you ever get an AK try to look for an Egyptian Maadi. They're the closest things to Russian AK's out there for about 800-900 dollars.

I haven't seen too many around. Chances of finding them in a gunshop are unlikely, chances are higher off of gun broker or something.

The L85 A2 is the most reliable weapon in the world, even outlasting an ak in dusty environments after sustained fire. It's also more accurate than a ************.
