Genius Nation

Once in a soap factory in Japan the soap cover was
mistakingly packed without soap in it. To avoid the
problem in future they purchased an Machine
of Thousand dollars for assembly line to check
whether soap is packed in cover or not.
Same problem occurred in Pakistan. What they did?
They simply put a pedistal fan beside the assembly
line. Empty boxes were flown away! Genius Nation!

Reminds me of when the US spent 1 million creating a pen that worked in space.

And the Russians just used a pencil.
User avatar #48 to #36 - agitatedscientist (07/06/2013) [-]
Except that didn't happen at all.

Paul Fisher used his own, private company to create the space pen. This was not requested by any government, and never cost the tax payers a cent.

Since the pencils were causing problems with their shavings (no, you can't create a contained sharpener, the sharpener itself can't leak the shavings, but a pencil itself will allow the shavings to slip past it in zero gravity) BOTH America and Russia adapted the space pen. Any and all space missions still use this pen to this day.

Kind of related: My mom bought us Mcdonalds a few weeks ago and I asked her to get me a big mac because I hadn't had one in forever, and when she got home I opened up the box and took a bite out of the burger only to realize that it had no meat... HOW THE **** DID THEY FORGET THE MEAT?!?

They use fans/blowers everywhere to solve this problem, i worked in a factory for tropicana and its just common practice to use blowers to get rid of empty boxes...

X-rays are put on factory lines (particularly with food manufacturing) to detect foreign material. I'm not even sure it would detect the soap to be honest. Hence, I'd say Japan just implemented better safety criteria

.... just saying
#175 - texafornication (07/06/2013) [-]
In all honesty the thought of using an x-ray machine probably didn't even occur to them
