Then the disease is already cured, and the issue isn't in actively curing it, but having money to go through with the procedure. That isn't on the government, that's on the insurance companies, which is something Obama would have no contol over.

The issue I had with your comment is that you talked about "the government keeps putting money in the military and not on curing Huntingtons Disease!" If you knew anthing about biology, you'd know that, if Huntington's Disease were not already cured, curing a disease, even a genetic disease, is about trying things like that sound like they should work, and hoping they do. The funding goes into allowing yourself more time to study the disease and try new processes. Or do you really think that HIV still doesn't have a cure because Obama is too busy dumping money into his vacation pool? In reality, it's because viruses, bacteria, and genetic diseases are uncured because they're either misunderstood, extremely resilient, or the nature of the infection itself is preventing it from being cured.

But if you want to continue sounding like you know more about biology than a physical biology major with your 9th grade experience you go right on ahead. I'll mop the floor with you.

Had I been trolling, you'd have known it a png time ago. I made that point to show you that I'm not impressed by your showboating, nor do I believe you.

That's still not "We're trying to cure this disorder but we can't because thanks Obama!" that's a matter of having a procedure done that does cure it, and not once did I say that it doesn't. In fact, not once did I say that I doubted the fact that such a thing even exists. You're pulling all of this out of your ass in order to make yourself look smarter when the truth is all you've done is hang on one disorder, that I'm guessing you did one school project on, that you must know everything about, so you don't dare deviate from it.

Also, in order:

1. A dominant disorder, like Huntington's Disease, is a disorder presenting itself from a dominant allele where even if the zygote is heterozygous, they will present symptoms of the disease. Most dominant disorders will kill the zgyote if they have a homozygoes dominant genotype, which is why people with huntingtons have a heterozygous genotype, which is why you have a 50% chance of getting it if one of your parents has it, because you have a 50/50 shot of either getting the one good allele, or the dominant allele that will give you Huntingtons Disease.

2. A recessive disorder is the opposite, the disease presents itself on the recessive allele, so even if you have an allele with the disorder, so long as you have the one good, dominant allele, you won't have the disorder, but you'll be what's known as a "carrier." Hemophilia is an example of an X-linked recessive disorder.

3. Not anywhere in my last comment did I even hint that HIV is a genetic disorder. HIV is a retrovirus that attacks the T-cells in the human immune system, which is why HIV is such a bitch to make a vaccine for since even weakened forms of the virus have shown to be strong enough to overtake human T-Cells.

Now go ahead and tell me I looked all of this up on google. It's what your default response was going to be instead of sneering at me in case I didn't bother answering.

When you looked up "recessive disorder" you didn't realize that the dictionary gave you the definition of a generic, genetic disorder.

Had you gone down further, you'd have found a link to "autosomal recessive defect", which is defined as a disorder caused by having two recessive copies of a mutant allele.

Then again had you known what you were talking about in the first place, I wouldn't have had to do your homework for you.

And I didn't compare Huntington's Disease to HIV. I used HIV as another examole of a disease we're currently breaking our backs to try and eradicate. Seriously, you suck at this.
