My parents tried doing that once, I just yelled "SHUT THE **** UP!!" In the stunned silence I said it was out of 50 and it was actually a really good grade... Then I was grounded for cursing at them. Oh well.

No you were grounded for standing up for yourself and your parents didnt know how to respond. I'd say you won in that scenario because your parents probably felt like assholes and didn't know how to deal with it, good job.

Well that's quite a large jump of an assumption, considering the only thing we know about this guy is what he just told us, which, to me, sounds like a fairly reasonable response considering the situation.
