I'm ready to take a ******** of red thumbs for this but...
Aside from the first 15 minutes, this movie was horrible. Here are some things I didn't like (SPOILERS START HERE):
1. I hate how the military tries to kill basically invulnerable people, if a missile won't kill them then what makes you think a pistol will do any good?
2. Superman fights a tentacle monster at some point...
3. Too many scenes involving useless characters we don't give a damn about, for example, Morpheus and that bald guy saving that woman in the rubble.
4. Category 5 tornado scene was horrible...
5. The villains were boring
6. The movie keeps going back and forth in time between young Kent and old Kent
7. I really hate fights between 2 invincible opponents, where no damage is being done to either side, oh that is until one breaks their neck to save 3 unnamed characters...
SPOILERS END HERE
I will say it had a good soundtrack, but that's pretty much it. I thought it was just as bad as Superman Returns (Kevin Spacey one).

Ok, I guess I would like to settle most of these comments. A lot of you people don't see a problem with number 2, which is fine but to me it wasn't so much the rule 34 reason people claim. It was just completely random. The movie is already confusing enough with the plot moving through past and future (which most of you seem to agree was annoying), seeing a random tentacle monster just made me go "what?" Ok, so the military not giving up is real (I am not insulting the military either). Still it annoys me when you have an invincible opponent vs helpless opponents. It would be different if they had minions or something that the military could kill.
What makes Batman so good is that no one is invincible, anyone can die. With that in mind it makes you care a little more about the characters because they are not immune to PIS. Which brings me to the final fight. Both are just punching each other with no signs of fatigue/injury for either person. And lo and behold, in the end superman snaps his neck to save... 3 people who probably didn't make it to the end credits...

Actually the worst scene was when:
SPOILERS START HERE
Superman was a kid in school, freaks out, goes into closet. Teacher gets mother over to school and mother has a heartwarming talk with him. The problem with this scene is that there are other students around her. I mean, wouldn't you want to give the mother some space? Is this really the other kids business? Why are they not in the classroom? This completely ruins the scene. The mother gives a heartwarming talk to her son, but it's ruined by the thought that other students will get to see a socially awkward moment with "Clark's Mommy."

Well I for one liked the tornado scene. It provided some actual emotional grief for Clark, and also showed how determined Jonathan was to keep his true identity a secret. That he sacrifices himself so that Clark can continue to live a rather normal life.

It's not that, I understand the point of that scene. The beef I have with it is 2 things:
1. The father dies to save a dog, it would have been better of he saved a person.
2. The tornado sort of absorbs him. In reality he should have gone flying...

1. military did not know they were invincible (the big missiles also did a little damage to them)
2. it was a defensive mechanism made from the kryptonian technology.
3. there has to be character development in movies, and the saving scene was to show how weak and helpless humans are compared to Superman
4. they wanted something more than a heart attack to kill Mr. Kent
5. are you kidding me? Zod's part was flawlessly played by Michael Shannon. And the others were supposed to be monotonous, because they were soldiers, who really didn't know emotion
6. i agree with this one
7. i thought the fight scenes made up for the slow beginning. They were fast paced and showed how awesome the kryptonians are. Superman didn't want to kill any of the kryptonians, but Zod forced him to pretty much commit genocide of his own people.
I thought it was a fantastic Comic movie. Could it have been done better?
Yes.
(I'm not saying you were wrong at any of these points, i was simply putting in my opinions)

What's the military supposed to do? Eat **** while the aliens do whatever the **** they want? And it wasn't a tentacle monster it was a machine with multiple appendages. And they aren't entirely useless, they're superman's co-workers for any possible sequels. The tornado scene was emotional. The villain is someone we can understand, a soldier who only wanted to protect his people at any cost. It was to show how Superman became more human than Kryptonian. Neither character is invincible, they can cause damage to each other, like Doomsday v. Superman.

I agree with you, is not a Dark Night nor a Avengers movie.
The alien plot was boring.

1. The military will at least try something, it's their jobs, are they supposed to sit there and die?
2.Yeah, that was lame
3.Agree
4.Agree
5.Faora was amazing, and Zod was pretty sick to, how do you find them boring?
6.That's to show the lessons learned from his past to structure how he was formed as a man today.
7.That was the point, superman wants to restrain him, knock him out, something like that, and realizes he has to kill him. Remember, he also killed Zod in Superman 2

Faora was only fast-moving-lady. She literally had no character. If you were to describe her without saying anything about her super power or her position in Zod's gang, you have nothing to say.
And Zod was just your run-of-the-mill powermad nazi. His motivation was boring and done to death in other movies (and games and books). To have him want to destroy the world when he looses all is just an excuse to have a stupid action sequence at the end. He was a man of principles his whole life and he just turns into pure BLARGH. That sucks.

Of course Zod had motivation that " was boring and done to death in other movies (and games and books)." NO ****. If they changed that, people like yourself would be bitching about it too.

1. The military would do that anyway. My friend in the Marines has told me so.
2. Why is that a foul point?
3. They're employees at the place he went to work at the end. It also helped illustrate how much stronger Superman is.
4. It was feely, but I agree. Mr. Kent should have had his heart attack.
5 and 7. They're kryptonian soldiers. What did you honestly expect?
6. It was a nice way to get the exposition out without bogging down on young Kal adjusting to seeing his teacher's facial muscles.

Oh my god I thought the same thing! Making superman's escape the end result would have been great! It means the movie would have had more options on where to go and it would make an interesting movie. Kinda like Promethius.

Oh you can't believe it? well too bad you aren't one of the millions of people worldwide who actually enjoyed it on the first day. Just because you don't like something doesn't make it bad, otherwise transformers, the dark knight trilogy, lord of the rings, pearl harbor, titanic, and countless others would have bombed if they really were as bad as just 5% of the viewers thought.

The fact that transformers, despite what you are trying to say, grossed in the billions, with fans worldwide reserving tickets to each movie sometimes months in advance. how about that? I was listing the movies people rip on, which includes all the titles I mentioned. remember the ********* that followed after someone said dark knight rises sucks? just because you and a couple other people don't like a movie, that's your own ******* opinion, keep it to yourself, you don't speak on behalf of the entire human race.
