The French lost their chance for friendship with America when they just went and let the Nazis walk in and take over
User avatar #129 to #114 - Rockaman ONLINE (07/05/2013) [-]
Not really, it was more to do with the fact that France opposed the 2003 Invasion of Iraq, so lots of members of the US's Congress started spreading Anti-French sentiment, which the media spread further almost brainwashing the American public into demonizing the French. So much so that the infamous French Fries name chance scandal arose where a few restaurants changed the name to Freedom Fries.

Because France is always jelly we became an Empire after theirs collapsed, our culture replaced theirs internationally, English became the language of diplomacy, our corporations unburdened by 50% and soon 75% tax rates were able to spread across the globe. We are the main power behind the UN and without us they are nothing. We outclass.
That and they think we are fat, uneducated, and lazy. While they think they are "Cultured" when they are really just unnecessarily rude and stuck up.

well i mean when i was younger i hated other countries as well for no reason at all i would actively bash europe with freedom things as we still do to Europe ans Europe does to us. but now that im older i see how stupid that all really is and i also realized that i didnt really hate Europe and i don't think Europe really hates us its just sorta making fun of each other as people often do. thats not to say there arn't 12 yos (like i used to be) who are caught up in national pride and think there country is the best but you gotta remember this is all just from fags on the internet Obama isnt siting in the white house like " **** son french are such pussies lol" because in reality france and amearica are good allies just the fags on the internet are not so they will keep calling us fat and we will keep calling them pussies or the germans Nazis or wut ever else beacse thats just our faggy nature

Britain granted freedom to the colonies it didn't lose them. Also they still have the commonwealth which is the majority of the 'lost' colonies.
#118 to #108 - John Cena (07/05/2013) [-]
"granted freedom"

I'm sure the good ol' GB just felt like crazy bob and was just GIVING colonies away!

I'm pretty sure global pressure after WWI had something to do with GB giving up their colonies.
#124 to #118 - mrcinnamon (07/05/2013) [-]
It didn't really.. if you look at the period it was far more internal pressure. Brits had been told they were going to war for the rights of small oppressed nations and had been helped in doing so by soldiers from around the world. It seemed a bit hypocritical afterward to try and maintain an Empire. It was one of the key reasons Attlee was voted in in 1945 even though Churchill had just won a war.

Cooper: You know America was founded by prudes. Prudes who left Europe because they hated all the kinky, steamy European sex that was going on. And now I, Cooper Harris, will return to the land of my perverted forefathers and claim my birthright.

You're not 'great' because your ancestors got rid of the british. You're still a fatass on the computer, dont take responsibility for their actions.
You're not 'great' because your country had an empire once. You're still a fatass on the computer, dont take responsibility for their actions.

Not that it matters now because its History and none of us can feel proud seeming as we had no involvement. But if it had been British Empire vs America there would have been no contest. Most of Great Britain forces were involved in the Napoleonic wars. Also i dont see why Americas are so proud of it. It was a bunch of English rebels winning independence
