Quentin Tarantino
Quentin = 7 letters
Tarantino = 9 letters
9 + 7 = 16.
Reservoir Dogs was released in 1992.
19 92. 92/19 = 4.8
16 / 4.8 = 3.3333333
Half Life 3 Confirmed

Wait, isn't 3.3333 an infinite number ? so by that conclusion the wait for Half life 3 would be infinite....

Played it once. Got bored, never touched again.
FPS games are boring no offence. You just run around and shoot.

The original Half-Life came out in 1998 and continues to hold its own among games today. True the graphics are dated but there is a alternate version basically the same game with modern graphics (Completely free my the way). The game centers around a science lab that accidentally opens a portal to another dimension and the alien life goes "Oh look new world to rule." The game is build around exploration in a nearly open world undergroundish complex. It mostly contains shooting, physics puzzles exploration rewarding you with new guns, ammo, health, etc. Some are turned off since the first 30 or so minutes are just setting the seance with nothing to do but walk around but the rest of the game is well worth the wait. The game allows you to have your own level of story ranging from "**** it let me shoot things" to "I want to know when every man farted." Half-Life 2 is set a few years later after humanity (POSSIBLE SPOILERS) lost and was concurred. You are dropped in and make things go F.U.B.A.R. The second is much more atmospheric while still holding the traits of the first. Most of the game play is similar but different enough to keep from feeling like re-skins from the first. I may sound a bit banboyish here but there is good reason. Half-Life does hold up to most of the praise the fans give it and I recommend giving it a try.

And because Half-Life was the first FPS a lot of people played, so it's a big nostalgic factor combined with never getting a third Half-Life.

The graphics, physics, and gameplay were years ahead of other games during that era.

There is a video of someone at e3 showing off some of the water and object physics and people were shocked to see it.

Yeah lets just hope Abrams stops trying to appeal to anything "nerd culture" related, he's already shown how incompetent he is at it. Can't get Star Trek right but hopes he can do better the Uwe Boll in video game adaptations?

Didn't really think so, cool action for sure, but that's to be expected in a sci-fi movie with current technology. But plot-wise? It made no ******* sense, it was this giant *wink* to star trek fans and by doing so it was a pathetic attempt at creating a movie. Please tell me once where the Eugenic wars was mentioned in the remake/sequal and into darkness to make introducing Khan a good decision.

Okay you really don't seem to understand my point, Khan is an already established character, he has an entire backstory. Hence why the "twist" was that he was thew villain.

However, if you do no reference literally ANYTHING about this character up to this reveal or any of his past reasonings/actions/etc. then there is no damn story, you get what I'm saying? Say the audience like you is going into this with no previous knowledge about star trek, Khan means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to you, how the hell can you say the story was fine when you don't even know a large chunk of what the hell is going on?

"A large chunk" I can see that certain characters are bad, certain characters are good, and that certain characters are traitors. That's all I need to know to judge a story, is how well it's made. It's like being new to a game. I can see that I can shoot, and I can see my objective as well as who the enemy is when I know nothing at all about the characters or story of it.

So you don't need to know anything else about characters except "These guys are good, don't ask why, they just are" and "this guy is bad, you don't need to know what makes him bad, just that right now he's bad".

The fact is, as a "movie" this is sub-par but whatever, acceptable. The problem lies in that Abrams was trying to make a "Star Trek" movie, this means the characters we are presented with have established backstories that should be addressed. If you knew anything about the character you would agree that he requires some lead up and information.

Basically what you're saying if you're fine with any movie having a villain and never explaining anything about him or why he's doing something, just "that he's bad".

Also using games as an example is a bad idea considering most games outside of older system ones, give a deep narrative into the villains and why they are the villains, or some games like fallout let you figure out for yourself, but the information is always still available.
