You know this really makes me wonder, we think of light before the darkness, but what if it's light is the absence of darkness as opposed to the other way around? Again I mean this metaphorically and perhaps a bit literally.

So does it make more sense that light corrupted the darkness? The perfect void with no irregularities?

If the term: "nothing is perfect" is true, and darkness is simply "the absence of anything" and in other words "nothing", then doesn't that mean that the darkness, the empty void, is perfection?

In other words, if "nothing: is perfect, then nothingness... the darkness, is perfection.

“Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.” - my favourite from Sir Pratchet

I am a huge Pratchett fan, but it has become difficult for me to read his books nowadays, because I am constantly reminded of how he is currently struggling with Alzheimer's disease and how he will probably decide to end his life soon to avoid the final stages.

Then there will be no more Rincewind. No more Ankh-Morpork. No more Unseen University. No more orang-utans in libraries. No new stories about the witches. And ironically enough, Death will not make any further appearances either.

I realize that every author dies sooner or later and takes all potential further stories with him. But right now, the feels are just too much.

On Discworld, where Terry Pratchett's novel series takes place, light travels only a few hundred miles per hour due to Discworld's "embarrassingly strong" magic field.

But darkness isn't an actual thing, it's just a lack of light.
