Part 2

As before, sorry for being to lazy to research the artists, if any of them sees this and decides he doesn´t like me using his works, I deserve to be thrown in a pool with all of these things.

This one is from Pacific Rim. I can't wait to see it. It's everything they leave out of standard monster movies. It actually deals with the logistics of actually fighting giant monsters. The corpses take months to remove from cities. The 300ft skulls are are made into museum exhibits, the organs are sold. They actually address the giant robots existence; they have to construct them on massive drydocks, there's a lot of patriotism and fanfare for individual robots and whatnot. It looks pretty legit.

I´m really looking forward to the movie and what you´re saying makes me hope - I was a bit afraid that this would turn out into a pure-action nonsense movie.

the premise of that movie, like all films dealing with robots, irritates me beyond measure. oh, we have to fight giant interdimensional beings, better make sure we utilize the least efficient means possible to combat them and built gargantuan mecha! no- build a 3000 mm railgun and waste the *******

You know, youtube commentators are actually playing in it as main characters. Two of which, are Jesse Cox a.k.a. OMFGcata and Dodger a.k.a. PressHeartToContinue. and I believe some other people like the game grumps.

The only thing I thought when I saw that trailer was "That's almost like NGE"

Seriously.
User avatar #109 to #104 - vampireinarm (07/04/2013) [-]
and thats what kills all the comment sections on videos dealing with the movie
User avatar #110 to #109 - darkangeloffire (07/04/2013) [-]
I'm not hating the movie for the similarities. That was just my first thought about it. Still the idea has been done rarely (NGE is the only one I can think of) so a movie with a similar concept that isn't done much is nice.
User avatar #148 to #110 - vampireinarm (07/04/2013) [-]
im just saying that any time theres a video dealing with it theres a bunch of kids trying to look cool by saying its an Evangelion ripoff and using the japanese name and what not. gets quite annoying.
#182 to #148 - anon (07/04/2013) [-]
But it's almost the same when it comes to the Plot it's just the american version with some minor differences nothing more.

And the basic story in Evangelion is way more awesome (God, Angels etc) compared to this.
But this Movie still looks awesome so everybody who likes giant Monsters and Robots should enjoy this.
User avatar #236 to #148 - yusay ONLINE (07/04/2013) [-]
You have to expect it when it's that damn similar.
User avatar #238 to #236 - yusay ONLINE (07/04/2013) [-]
I mean, the premise is basically a rip off. Hopefully the execution and story are nothing similar.
User avatar #143 to #75 - Kanoah (07/04/2013) [-]
Why not just use any of the hundreds of varieties of missiles that we've spent billions developing? That's my problem with the movie. I'm sure a MOAB would be much more effective than a robot punching it would.

Best deck color and type?

I enjoy a well made black life gain. I feel if properly made, this black offers just as much life gain ability as a white deck, but still has some offensive power.
User avatar #161 to #120 - turboplague (07/04/2013) [-]
I run a Selensya token deck.
**** gets out of control really fast.
White/Green btw...
User avatar #123 to #120 - warrenzthehero (07/04/2013) [-]
I have tons of decks.
Some of my most succesful:
A monoblue Mill. Tons of mill. plenty of countercards. Throw in a Geralf's Mindrucher for muscle and a Beguiler of wills for control an you're golden.
A White/Blue Exile. Everything about it says overpowered. Vensers for ultimate exiling, Tamiyo for control, Gideon Jura to offer protection via self-sacrifice. Have tons of exile enchantments and supe up your own creatures with Ethereal Armor and watch them squirm.
And a monogreen Dungrove Elder deck. Numerous ways to get him to hit the field and a lot of managrab to ramp him up. Double, triple, quadruple, or even pentuple his Power with Blanchwood Armors and give him Trample to mow over creatures with Rancor. Alternatively, Whispersilk Cloak.
User avatar #191 to #120 - rockmanneos (07/04/2013) [-]
I'm currently working on a "Guilds of Innistrad" idea. One of each dual colored deck using nothing but stuff from the Innistrad block and M13. But as it stands, I'm probably going to extend to M12, and maybe even M11 and M10. All because M14 is looking too good NOT to use.
User avatar #121 to #120 - Ulmer (07/04/2013) [-]
I run all kinds of different decks, but my mono black is a pure agro lich deck.

Playset of Phylactory Liches, darksteel artifacts, kill spells, and buffs.
User avatar #125 to #121 - warrenzthehero (07/04/2013) [-]
The great thing about Phylactery Lich is that it doesn't matter whose Phylactery Counter is one what artifact. As long as you have any permanent with a Counter, you keep your Liches.

Opinions, I guess. Crack the Skye was the first of their records I got an I still dig it. Especially Divinations
#240 to #237 - shugudugs ONLINE (07/04/2013) [-]
The first record I heard from them was The Hunter, and it was phenomenal, and then Leviathan, and now everything else I've heard from them (and from almost every other metal band) just seems bland, that's how much Leviathan means to me.

We used to cover Mastodon, mostly Leviathan stuff and The Hunter stuff, never really dabbled onto their other albums.
#290 to #240 - anon (07/04/2013) [-]
I loved your first post, however, the hunter is the worst of mastodon works, and crack the skye the best, but everything depends on opinions
