I've come to the conclusion that it must be my subconscious mind trying to escape from my electronic prison. After a while if nothing is holding my immediate interest, it takes advantage of this moment of weakness and spurs me to get up and walk around the house, desperately hoping for something, anything, to catch my attention. But nothing ever does. Then it's dragged back to the computer with me to continue withering away.

Its not too complicated. We are living beings. Living beings like to be active, do things, etc. Even if that means moving around aimlessly. Your muscles need to move and stretch every now and then and your brain knows it, so you have the urge to move around.
