Some people in my college chem classes would use this example as an excuse to not study for their finals too. It's the shittiest fucking excuse ever. I used to think to myself, "Of course Bill Gates succeeded. He's an absolute genius that didn't really care about certain subjects, so didn't really study. You're just a bunch of fuckwads that are too stupid to recognize the fact that science courses take a lot of hard work." Oh, and then they would blame everything on the professor when they got a 20% on the final. Grinds my gears, man.

Bill Gates knew what he wanted to do and how to do it and so when he quit highschool he got to work and man did he WORK. There wasn't play for him. He worked his ass off. People who use him as an excuse are lazy assholes that just want everything handed to them in life.

Sounds a lot like our college. I'm studying chemistry too. Most of the people who didn't make it through the tests blame the professors or that the subject's "too hard" or "not understandable at all". Like this guy, who's doing this one subject for the fifth time and always studies a lot and just can't make it. Like a friend said, just face it, you're too stupid for this college, go study economy or something.

I didn't make the finals yet and will do them in august but that's just my fault for not studying and procrastinating here on FJ.

Well I was a bio major, and I definitely failed Organic I the first time around, but took full responsibility for my shitiness and still got accepted into an accelerated PharmD program for this coming school year. Grad schools don't give a shit if you fail, it all depends on how you bounce back, and that's exactly what these idiots don't realize. If you fail, you can't afford to do badly a second time, and no matter how shitty of a professor you have, there is always a way to do well. Sometimes you have to teach yourself the entire course, but it's possible.

For the fifth time? Isn't there some sort of a limit?

Three times it's free, then the fourth you pay. He failed it for the fourth time already. You can talk to the professor to not write down an attempt if you failed it and he might give you another try if you have finished all other subjects... But this guy won't make it.
