Yes, because Bill Gates was a genius. So was Steve Jobs, he dropped out too. You're average at best, stay in school

I hate people who use Bill gates, or Richard Branson as examples for them dropping out of high school/college. They think that those two guys didn't need school and are now billionaires maybe I could be too. The only differences are they had something going before hand and weren't pot smokers who smoked themselves retarded like today's kids.

Yeah, nah, **** you. Pass your exams and you have the opportunity at either one. Fail, and it's only by some miracle you succeed in life. Not everyone creates a genius business plan.

Some people in my college chem classes would use this example as an excuse to not study for their finals too. It's the ********* ******* excuse ever. I used to think to myself, "Of course Bill Gates succeeded. He's an absolute genius that didn't really care about certain subjects, so didn't really study. You're just a bunch of ******** that are too stupid to recognize the fact that science courses take a lot of hard work." Oh, and then they would blame everything on the professor when they got a 20% on the final. Grinds my gears, man.

This is a fallocy. He didn't not finish college because he couldn't, he didn't finish college because he realized he didn't need it. The important thing is he still had the ability. Any time I decide to quit anything, I make sure it's because it's not what I want to do, and not because it's something I'm unable to do. That way I can look back and not have regrets. If you're going to quit something, do it because it's not for you, not because you suck at it. Most of all, don't quit something because you suck at it, look at someone who quit because they didn't want to do it, and somehow try to use that to justify why you were a lazy peice of **** .

If you must quit something because you suck at something, at least be honest about it, if not to other people then at least to yourself.

Rant time:

I hate when a mother ****** likes to think "just because I dropped out of school doesn't mean I'm dumb."

Yes it does. You're a dumb mother ****** for dropping out of high school. Especially if you have free education.

Most of these people are the first ones to complain when nobody will hire them besides McDonalds because they don't have a diploma or GED.

Besides that, one of the only other options is the military, and let's face it. It isn't easy. If it was easy everybody would do it.

It doesn't mean you're dumb if you fail classes because you may not learn the same way others do. You may be a hands-on or visual kind of learner. That type of person will do better when they get experience.

You're dumb as **** if you turn down a free education because "I'm too cool for school."

Bill Gates had a genius level intellect. You don't.

As far as college/university goes, it isn't for everybody. It's not free in my country, so not everybody can go. That's understandable. And not every degree guarantees a job anyway.

Just don't be a dumb ass and turn down free education. It only helps.

I dropped out, but I had A grades, I dropped out because of health reasons, and then took the equivalency exam, which is better than a GED

I think it is more of lottery kind of deal. Yes you can be a genius or inhumanly gifted at something but there has to be a series of events that happen to go in your favor to become ultra successful. Take the NFL for example... Only 1% of the players see pay checks like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady and have as long of careers as they do. There have been countless players in the past that where as strong, gifted, smart, and hard working as the ultra successful players but maybe got drafted into a bad franchise or blew their shot with an off year. I still believe you should work as hard as you can and you will always get rewarded because luck comes to those who are prepared, but you can't flat out say "I am going to work hard and become as successful as Bill Gates..." that is unrealistic

To all those saying either Bill Gates wasn't smart or that they feel it is okay to be lazy, do realize that Bill Gates dropped out of highschool and worked a lot. He worked day and night on Windows. Windows became his life. Computers became his life. He didn't sit around and play videogames, he worked his ass off daily so you could. He wasn't lazy, it's just that highschool didn't hold his future. He knew what he was going to do. So work your ass off on your dreams. Make every second of your life count towards what you dream of doing. That's what Bill Gates did.

The engineer wasn't as talented or naturally great, Bill Gates was.

That's the difference between the world's abnormals exceptionals) and normal people and minuses like myself.

Basically, virtually most of the population couldn't fail and become mega successful like Gates, we aren't gifted, so I don't think its nice to look down on the engineer. I'm sure he worked hard with what he had.
