He's been skating for what? 10 - 20 years now?

The likelyhood of him falling while just simply rolling along on a slanted half-pipe really is about as likely as you simply falling on a smooth sidewalk.

If you are to rationalize it that way, then I'm pretty sure most people have walked more than he has skated.
Ultimately, I'm sure she's pretty safe, due to how comfortable and secure he must be on a skateboard by now, but if she suddenly got an impulse to lean forward, jump, spin around or whatever, or if he miscalculated because of the new weight distribution, he could end up falling on her, or she could fall on her head, etc. Walking with your child on a plane side-walk, however, and she tripped, the worst probable thing that would happen is that she'd fall on her knee and bruise it.
He should at least put protective gear on her.

I've been walking longer than I've been driving. Guess I shouldn't drive my little sister to school.

I was saying that in response to how people would be as or more likely to fall while walking on the sidewalk as him falling from skating. Not that I'd use that as an argument myself.
