NO, DONT PUT IT IN THE BICEP. Trust me, as a diabetic, shots directly into the muscle hurt and then sting like hell.

Do you have an insulin pump, or are you still on syringe injections? I rather like my pump.

Pens, I have heard that if anything goes wrong with the pump that it is a pain in the ass to fix and with my luck, everything would go wrong, so I am cautious to get one.

As I type 1 Diabetic myself, I'm using Humalog Kwikpens. And earlier today I had my ketones go up to large, let me tell you. It wasn't fun. I occasionally have my lows but never once have I had this happen. I felt sick the entire day and just had to lay back in my chair and drink water constantly. Right now they're at small and I'm still trying to get them down. Just one of the perks of being a diabetic I guess...

It's been 24 hours since I threw up from the large ketones. I've been able to bring it down to trace. Think I should still go to the ER?

Is never having ketones a good thing? because I have been up to 500 and beyond before and still have never had ketones?

You only start getting ketones if you let it stay that high for a while.

How are you feeling? I started being really sick til my stomach emptied then my lung collapsed...but I left it nearly 30 hours...
Have you managed to eat? I was told drinking water was the worst thing to do, as you're just giving yourself something your stomach can vomit out again

I feel fine now, the doctors told me to drink ALOT of water (8 Liters every 2 hours) as it flushes out the ketones.
I've eatin some food but I havent eatin anything with alot of carbs in it.
I honestly don't know why I asked, I feel perfectly fine. Just a bit tired from staying up.

You're probably tired because you have had the ketones, and it's good you ask, I felt fine right up to the second I fell into diabetic ketoacidosis, ketones may kill slowly but they DO kill D:

And sadly when I threw up, there went two very delicious slices of some dominos pan pizza.

That's true. I have one, and they said that it was "water resistant". But I left it in my moms jeep at the beach, and there was so much water damage, I had to get a new one. I had insurance thankfully, so I got a new one for pretty cheap. They're more convenient than syringes or pens, but if they break and you're uninsured, you're out about 5,000 US. So... Yeah. If you do get one, be careful around water.

I'm looking at getting a pump soon. I'm using the kwikpen but I really dont keep up with my shots very well, I'll probably end up getting the pump because being inconvenienced a little is better than kidney failure. Still nervous though.

I like my Humalog Kwikpen, only problem is when the needle starts to bend and I'm too lazy to change it. So I just endure the pain.

Actually, Heroin makes the ideal diabetes treatment. You see, heroin works by binding to your nervous system, resulting in supressed but consistent neural activity (this is what makes heroin and other opioids effective painkillers. Diabetes results from an imbalance of glucose (among other things) in your body, and when heroin, which is essentially super-morphine, is injected, it helps to regulate the nerves ultimately controlling the levels of insulin in your body. Not only does this make it the perfect diabetes drug, but if you truly truly believed any word of this ridiculous comment, then you are among one of the dumbest people alive and should go think about your life...if you can.

Thank you.
