The arguments for handing out condoms is terrible. "They're having sex, why not give them condoms?" That's like saying "Look, kids are already drinking. We might as well just give them beer!" **** 'em, if kids are having sex they can buy their own condoms. Make it available to them to buy, don't give them it! Idiots don't get to skimp out on a consumer economy's demands.

Right. What ever happened to personal responsibility? Buy your own damn condoms. They aren't very expensive or difficult to get.

it wouldn't be mandatory to receive condoms, its just available for free so there's more incentive to have safe sex as opposed to unsafe sex since its not a hassle, bt it doesn't encourage sex. and its not bad in the first place

it is not the schools place. if they want condoms they can do one of two things. 1) buy them or 2) get them free at planned parenthood. they give you like 3 a day free and each one after that is 25 cents... me personally i always bought them so i could get the good ones that i didn't have to worry about them breaking just from looking at them.

again, the more convenient it is, the more chance kids will practice safe sex. getting them at school is as convenient as it gets.

its a teachers job to make sure they learn academics. the tax paying citizens shouldnt have to foot the bill for slutty teens. and it shouldn't be the schools job to encourage it.

sex ed is important

it doesn't encourage it, it makes it more convenient to do it safely. they're going to do it anyway, but at least it'll be easier to make sure they're safe.

there is a difference between sexual education and handing out rubbers if you can't see this then i feel sorry for you.
User avatar #166 to #102 - cleverguy (06/26/2013) [-]
it usually goes hand in hand
#168 to #166 - fukyu (06/26/2013) [-]
not really, there is a world of difference between teaching kids what happens if they have sex, & how the body works and just handing out condoms and saying here go be a slut on my dollar.
User avatar #169 to #168 - cleverguy (06/26/2013) [-]
no, i mean they probably wouldn't hand out condoms without providing sexual education along with it
#173 to #169 - fukyu (06/27/2013) [-]
they already have sex ed, no need to pass out condoms with my ****** money
User avatar #174 to #173 - cleverguy (06/27/2013) [-]
sorry you feel that way, but its the easiest way to get the kids to practice safe sex

So you're saying
Sex:Condoms as Drinking:Beer
wat
#84 to #64 - fukyu (06/25/2013) [-]
they are saying is just because kids are ******* anyway isn't a good argument for giving them condoms in school, that would be like saying that since kids are getting drunk anyway we might as well just give them the booze since they are going to do it anyway.. i am not saying i do or dont agree i am just explaining it to you since it looks to me (i could be wrong) like you thought he was saying condoms and beer are the same thing
User avatar #52 to #43 - darman ONLINE (06/25/2013) [-]
Except free beer doesn't equal condoms. Condoms help reduce pregnancy and STD risk. Perhaps a more accurate comparison is giving alcohol drinking student free replacement livers, or a free hangover/inebriation cure.
#86 to #52 - fukyu (06/25/2013) [-]
they only help prevent stds and preggo teens when they are efficient decent condoms. the type of condoms that places hand out for free have a bad habit of breaking easily or coming with factory defects in the... trojans are the way to go and those wont be handed out free any time sooon

Giving a kid a condom doesn't flip a switch in their head that makes them think "Oh hey, might as well use this **** now that I have it!" In a lot cases it'll just sit in their wallet for show for a while. The kids that you think will have sex just because they are given a condom are gonna **** either way.
Some kids are too shy, embarrassed, or even too broke to buy condoms at the supermarket. That's just the reality. At least by giving them free condoms they will be prepared and not spread any STD's or worse, children.

if any of those things are preventing them from buying condoms then they don't need to be having sex.. sex comes with responsibilities its not a game. if you can't handle those responsibilities why should the tax payers handle them for you
User avatar #171 to #167 - awildniglet (06/26/2013) [-]
Kids will have sex whether they're responsible or not, that's just the way it is. I'd rather they were protected rather than spread a bunch of STDs around because they're too stupid to buy a condom.
#172 to #171 - fukyu (06/27/2013) [-]
it still shouldn't be my job to buy them for them.
