And then we'll tell them that we'll spend the money on schools so the children will benefit

For me its the same thing with healthcare. I dont want to be around a bunch of sick people, I also dont like seeing hurt people who cant afford to do anything about it, it saddens me.

Actually if we didnt pay taxes for schools, then competition would be a lot more important in schools, making the good ones flourish and the bad ones die out. This is why colleges in America are first-class and grade and high schools are **** .

But if you live in a poor rural area with only one school, like myself, then you'd be completely ****** , because the community doesn't have nearly enough money to fund a school by itself. We're poor enough as it is - cutting off our funding completely for ideological reasons would completely **** over millions of rural kids, who would be condemned to either pay to go to a school 50 miles away or not go to school at all.

So no, that'd be a terrible idea.

I wish here in America people fought as hard to get better education as they do trying to stop two people from having the right to marry each other.

I agree with this but I feel like most public schools don't care about students, focus on standardized testing, teach useless information, and destroy creativity

You are surprise that we make jokes about Tsunami's? There are much worse jokes out there than that. And in general we have forgiven Japan for Pearl Harbor. We will never forgive the 1940 regime, but we have no problem with the people that live there today, and unless time travel comes to be, I don't think our dislike of the early 1940's Japan will ever mean much.

Taxation is stupid. It's a fee to have a job - basically a fee to be alive

Its a fee to have roads, school, police, firemen, and many other services that don't have a product attached to them but are necessary for life in this era.

I'd be fine with it too, if our schools actually educated. But now all they seem to care about is indoctrinating. There is a significant difference.

But public education has been mandatory throughout the US for almost a century, and most people are still morons. Our current educational system doesn't improve intelligence. Heck, it barely improves knowledge. Anyone who doesn't care about learning just cheats.

Actually, IQ scores around the globe have been rising for decades, even though we've normalized the test multiple times to make sure 100 is the standard score; it's called the Flynn effect. By modern standards, our great grandparents were literally mentally retarded.

The problem is that now, instead of acquiring knowledge, we're being trained to take tests efficiently, thus rendering moot their entire purpose. NCLB was basically designed to encourage mediocrity so companies could have a ready supply of useful morons.
