It was a ******* metaphor you literal **** . Just saying do you really think the government needs 40% of your paycheck to cover all that? Government loves to increase it's power and wealth over the commoners. In short, you're a little pushover bitch, your country sucks and you should feel bad.
User avatar #55 to #48 - ruebezahl (06/24/2013) [-]
Anyone with reasonably basic math skills and a bit of time on their hands can review the government's budget anytime they want and figure out whether or not the government needs all that money.

I don't see the government being very "wealthy", so I don't know which country you live in where the government increases its wealth. The heads of state in most democratic countries earn less than your average CEO and just by not being in debt, I am richer than practically any government on Earth.

I have lived both in low-tax countries and in high-tax countries, and I considered life to be significantly better in high-tax countries. Getting a few bucks more out of each paycheck becomes somewhat less important when you call 911 and have to wait 15 minutes to speak with an operator.
User avatar #52 to #48 - rawesome ONLINE (06/24/2013) [-]
I can live with being called literal I guess...

man youre one dumb ******* anon, i didnt realize retards like you still existed, believe it or not, the government arent out to get you little girl
#53 to #51 - anonymous (06/24/2013) [-]
Didn't say they were out to get me, just that they want more money than they need. Stop putting your own sentiments into my comments cause you're ******* wrong. Hasn't your mother ever told you that arguing with an anon is ******* stupid, cause you'll always be wrong.
User avatar #54 to #53 - admiralen (06/24/2013) [-]
check out what they do with the money before you start throwing blame and lies around dumbass
User avatar #25 - ruebezahl (06/24/2013) [-]
So essentially, what this is saying is that taxes just eat up 30% of your income and that these 30% vanish and are never seen again?

The fact that taxes pay to pave the roads, staff schools and government offices, etc. is irrelevant?
User avatar #31 to #25 - mrtrixreturned (06/24/2013) [-]
Technically parents would be eating 30% of their ice cream but the ice cream is provided for free
User avatar #30 to #25 - thereisaguy (06/24/2013) [-]
That 30% of the ice cream gives them the fortitude to not drop you off for adoption, so in a way the tax does go somewhere.
#28 to #25 - anonymous (06/24/2013) [-]
36% here, not that i have any income though. Take that government.
User avatar #23 - LocoJoe (06/24/2013) [-]
Nonono. Take 30% of his ice cream and give half of it to a kid who didn't work for it.
User avatar #35 to #23 - psugo (06/24/2013) [-]
to be fair, few kids work to get icecream...

Eat 30 percent of his ice cream and make sure he gets an ice cream whenever he wants, even if he doesn't deserve it.

As do I. In fact, I go to the card shop right down the street from this sign to play yugioh. Sports cards and collectables on Saturdays.
#13 to #12 - ddrwannabe (06/24/2013) [-]
Wow. I have not played cards in a long time. Not since set 1 & 2 of Yugioh. Comic book shop there?
User avatar #14 to #13 - rzpdisciple (06/24/2013) [-]
no, the comic book shop has a few cards for sale, but no one goes. sports cards and collectables is right between natalee's and dunkin donuts. same parking lot as primos pizza.

30%? Haha, what country what country are they living in? USA is over 50%.
#45 to #4 - anonymous (06/24/2013) [-]
Unfortunately he is right... kinda. After everything is said and done (medicare/medicaid, federal income tax, state income tax, property tax, you get the idea) it comes up to about 50%, depending on your tax bracket ofc.
#19 to #4 - noschool (06/24/2013) [-]
the us has some of the lowest taxes in the developed world
User avatar #24 to #19 - xecoq (06/24/2013) [-]
**** son not even, i live in the Netherlands over food we pay 6% and over other stuff 21%(which is only a temporary increase from the normal 19, to get our debts out)
User avatar #29 to #24 - pottie (06/24/2013) [-]
In Britain its 20% on most things. when it comes to income tax, you pay 40% for everything over £32,000. We also get taxed like hell on fuel - £1.38 litre. Don't get me started on prices for alcohol and cigarettes here!
User avatar #38 to #29 - edwardyeap (06/24/2013) [-]
But most uni students there party with heaps of alcohol (I was staying there for a while, from University of Barthington to some accommodation near Strathclyde [Glasgow] and Uni of Arts London) . All those students there party almost everyday till morning. So, they really milk money out of their daddy's rod huh..? Three of me sisters study at different universities.
User avatar #56 to #38 - pottie (06/24/2013) [-]
Britains well known for our drinking and all. especially at university here. We can all drink at 18 so everyone i know is out. That's why my uni course isn't going so well.....
User avatar #57 to #56 - xecoq (06/24/2013) [-]
we can drink at 16 ^^ although that is for drinks with under 15% alcohol anything above is 18

User avatar #20 to #2 - poiklman (06/24/2013) [-]
Yeah but part of that 30% also goes to the poor hungry kid who has no hands for which to buy his own ice cream.
User avatar #18 to #2 - guymandude (06/24/2013) [-]
Or,eat 30% of their ice cream with the promise that you will regurgitate some of it for the kid he hates. Then, don't and digest it all for yourself. Then realize that you forgot to regurgitate the ice cream for the kid he hates, and ask for more ice cream to make up for your mistake. Rinse, repeat.
