not in my house, i had all my dogs taught that they don't beg, all i had to do is look at them and in a very deep and stern voice tell them one of two phrases, 1)Don't beg. 2)No begging. and they would go and lay down out of sight. there would be no way in hell i would let them put their face in my lap while i ate. that just encourages bad behavior. they all knew if there was anything left when we finished eating they would get some but they also learned if they begged we would throw it away before giving it to them.
animals, dogs in specific for the sake of this conversation are a lot smarter than people give them credit for.

>Dog innocently asks if he can have some of your food, the only way he can, by putting it's head on your lap
>Treat it as bad behaviour and strictly teach him never to do that again, ever

In my house everyone is an equal, If I had a dog he could eat whatever the **** he wants because he's a dog and I'd love him

Go **** yourself

To be fair, if my brother asked for a bite of my sandwich I'd guard that thing until one of us were dead.

I do understand your point though, limits and such.

and yes i treated begging as bad behavior because it is bad behavior. when you grow up and if you have kids would you give them what ever they want as long as they beg for it? i mean they are equal and can have what ever the **** they want because you love them right.

he's not talking about children and things, he's talking about a dog with food. When my dog does that it obviously means he's hungry so i ******* feed him, i don't shout at him and go tell him to sit in a corner. I can get food whenever i like, he can't

who said anything about shouting, and my dogs never went hungry they had a bowl of, now this is going to be shocking so prepare yourself.. dog food, yup thats right they had a bowl of dog food they could access anytime they wanted, it even had one of them reservoirs attached to the back of it so as the bowl emptied it automatically refilled with more, here is that shocking part again... dog food.. i know strange concept feeding your dog, dog food.. guess i am old fashioned like that. they got treats, i used cheese crackers to teach them tricks.. one of them would play dead well. as close as he could his tail still wagged but other than that he was "dead" all i did was make a gun with my finger and put it to his neck or head and tell him die and he would fall down and lay as still as a dog could lay untill i told him "ok you're alive" he would then get up into a sitting position and await his cheeze-it cracker. you make it sound like teaching your animal good manners is a war crime

A dog will eat any and all food that they see. Just cause he begs for your food doesn't mean he's hungry. It's just something else to put in their mouth. I make my dog go lay down while i'm eating, then after i'm done i'll give him the left overs. I don't know why everyone is freaking out at fukyu for teaching his dog proper manners.

the reason i use a child as an example is because he states in his house everyone is equal including the animals and they can have what ever the **** they want. so i was pointing out that you can spoil an animal just as you can a kid. if you read what he posted before going keyboard warrior you would have understood the refrence.

Are your kids often called loud, rude and annoying, but are really just creatively active?

I dunno, 20 seconds is actually quite a while for me to not touch a sandwich, if I make a sandwich I want to eat it.
