My school (no/little exaggeration)
Many kids have a half hour ride there and back, 1 hr
7 hours of school, 7 hr
avrg 4 hours of homework (no joke), 4hr
3/5 teachers have weekly tests, study for 2 hours for each test and thats about 1hr a day, 1 hr
do at least one sport/club, 1 hr a day (avrg), 1hr
sleep for at least 10 hours a night, 10 hrs,
lets give an hour to get ready for school, 1 hr (that means getting up at 7, going to bed at 9)
Dinner and talking to family, 1/2-1 hr
TOTAL: 25.5-26
Yay!

I have like 4 lessons a week right now but I have to stay in school for 7 hours every day because of this silly report, it's not that bad really, I just watch documentaries about stupid people and science

As an ex-football player, that is ******** . We stayed out until usually 8 because our coach was a dick who made us repeat stuff 80 times, and then literally REVERSE our plays. Then we did sprints for another half hour. The school was in the middle of ******* no-where, too. So the drive home was another 30 minutes

We didn't get home till 9-930. Then homework. **** a job. **** having a GF. Also **** food, don't need that **** . Just need sleep. Then the cycle repeats

I know people who play football, and they live pretty close to the school. Practice still takes them 'till after dark. I don't get how some of them can also manage doing well in honors / AP classes and still have social lives.

Our coach was a serious ******* too. My family all plays sports, so they related that your coach is an ******* , but really he gives a **** about you guys and does everything for everyone to be the best they can. But this guy made us go 3 3 hour practices a day in full pads from 7 am to 8 pm in August. Then when it got freezing in November-December he would go up in the announcers booth to give us plays through the PA because the room was heated. I'm outside in 28 degree weather in basically skin tight shorts and pads that are made to let out all heat and soaked in sweat, while he is nice and toasty doing jack **** .

We got to the 2nd round of playoffs and lost by 2. He didn't even come to the end of season dinner

all suggestions if you were to actually do all those things you end up getting a **** ton of awards and scholarships and get to go to the best colleges in the world for free, if you do like half those things you pass on the honor roll and get a few scholarships that help you out down the road if you do a quarter of those things you pass as the average student if you do an eighth of those things you pass as a low grade student.
Except the first one which is just kind of ******** cuz I've never heard of a school telling anyone to study 202 hours a day 7 days a week 360 days a year for 12 years.

Sorry but american high schoolers have no room to complain. If our ****** education system is too much for you, then you don't deserve to graduate. For ***** sake Highschool was so ******* easy its not even funny. I would hate to see you guys try and make it through a Finnish or Japanese high school.

if you're from the UK its the same as a GCSE

General Education Diploma. Basicly to get it all you have to do is take a test that checks if you are as knowledgeable as a high school graduate. if you pass you get it. Its the same as a high school diploma but less appreciated.
User avatar #67 to #66 - spidahridah (06/21/2013) [-]
Oh yeah, I heard about that. And then you get to skip the rest of High School, right? So how old were you when you got into college and how'd that go?

School was one of the easy parts of life. It's getting worse, believe me.

When you were a kid, school took forever because even one school day was actually a considerable portion of your life until then, then your parents decided what you could or couldn't do, what you would eat and when you would go to sleep.
High school (and maybe college, I won't know for 2 months) is the easy part of life; you can play games and browse FJ on a laptop while pretending to pay attention at school, you can slouch in front of the computer with snacks during the day and continue doing it throughout the night.
#57 to #42 - anonymous (06/21/2013) [-]
you're a depressing ************ . You gotta wake up every day expecting it will be the best day of your life
User avatar #63 to #57 - thisotherdude (06/21/2013) [-]
That's gonna make it even worse because you'll always end the day disappointed. If you don't expect anything at very least you won't be disappointed.

My old Vice-Principal in high school is under investigation for changing kids grades if they feel the situation calls for it, when I was there he was the coolest guy I've ever met, knew everyone by name and was always a pretty laid back guy, anddd now he's gunna lose his 6 figure job. His wifes rich I heard though, so maybe thats why he didnt give a ****

I played guitar with my principal in guitar class and he was rumored to be Smokey McPot. Really frickin chill. He was also the philosophy teacher and would come in and get us started on an argument and then sit back and watch us argue.
