One of Voldemort's parents was a rapist.

Won't you have a drink of water, Tom?

not knowing which parent. How to tell if someone hasn't read the books.

His father was initially not interested in the mother. The obsessed mother then put him under her control via a love potion. Then, under the trance, they ****** (Guy did not give consent, therefore, rape) and little Voldy was born. Then, after she stopped drugging him, he understandably left.

I read the books and I didn't even know that fact in the first place.
User avatar #109 to #103 - skypatrol ONLINE (06/21/2013) [-]
Same. I read them, not studied them.
User avatar #183 to #109 - setittowumbo (06/21/2013) [-]
You don't even need to read the books to know Voldemort's mum gave Tom Riddle a love potion because she was obsessed with him. It's on the wiki page.
User avatar #175 to #109 - crazyhindu (06/21/2013) [-]
You don't need to study them to ******* know something from them if you read them as you claim, now i don;t know what line 9 on page 76 of goblet of fire is, but i do know that Snape kills Dumbledore.
User avatar #180 to #175 - skypatrol ONLINE (06/21/2013) [-]
Yeah, i remember the main ******* story line, but I didn't remember some obscure fact that may have only been mentioned once or twice.
Especially if I didn't pick up on it when i first read it. I only reread the second one... Don't ask why..
User avatar #235 to #180 - crazyhindu (06/22/2013) [-]
Its part of the main story line. ITS THE ******* REASON HES SO EVIL
User avatar #236 to #235 - skypatrol ONLINE (06/22/2013) [-]
Who cares why he's evil? He's evil. Plain and simple.
I think with this strand of comments, I have found the harry potter fans.
User avatar #237 to #236 - crazyhindu (06/22/2013) [-]
You've found the harry potter fans you say? No **** you've found them. I could have told you that from the first comment. You don't need to be a die hard fan to understand and absorb basic information from literature, you clearly don't appreciate good literature or literature in general if you can't ask questions such as Why is he evil? you just read and go oh okay he's evil cool now let me finish this book so i can look smart in front of everyone and be cool cause everyone read this book. Even if you aren't a fan of it anyone who likes to read can appreciate a good book. someone needs to go back to the 3rd grade and learn about context and asking questions such as why.

'I remember the main story but not something that's integral to the character of the antagonist.'

Okay.

Yes Voldemorts conception was really important to me when I was twelve years old reading this series.

(somewhere around 12)
User avatar #238 to #213 - crazyhindu (06/22/2013) [-]
It is ******* important considering if it didn't happen then the ******* series wouldn't have existed, an author doesn't simply write **** cause they think its funny, they write it because its ******* important.
User avatar #239 to #238 - skypatrol ONLINE (06/22/2013) [-]
Funny, cause I really could care less why they wrote it.

I usually read something because it's interesting.

That tiny, minuscule point slipped my mind.
sorry
User avatar #240 to #239 - crazyhindu (06/22/2013) [-]
Its not minuscule its a DEFINING POINT OF THE ******* STORY. you clearly don't read because you find it interesting you read because you want to look smart. if you even had a tiny portion or human curiosity which comes hand in hand with interest you would instead go "Oh really? i was not aware that voldemort could not love and because he was conceived under the effects of a love potion, therefore meaning he did not have one shred of empathy causing him to do whatever he pleases making him the most dangerous man to exist." not "oh who cares he was evil the end."
User avatar #241 to #240 - skypatrol ONLINE (06/22/2013) [-]
No, I read because I get bored.
Nor do I really care about what i'm reading, it was ****** in comparison to other books.

And no, the fact that HIS MOTHER WAS A RAPIST is not defining the story. They made 8 movies with leaving that fact out.
Sure I guess it supports Voldemorts entire character, but who the **** cares? It's a goddamn fiction book. I have better things to do with my time than read those books carefully.

I think it was his mum...
#85 to #22 - anonymous (06/21/2013) [-]

Read the books, man.

his dad(muggle) was under the effects of a love potion brewed by his mum(witch/squib).
