lets get / make knight armors to protect us from the bites and only use swords to avoid guns because they attract walkers

This needs to be a game/film/series/book/comic now.

Unless it was specially made it would probably slow them down too much and they could be easily overbalanced and have their helmets ripped off. Especially with melee weapons. Still, not a bad idea.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knightriders

A movie directed by George A. Romero.

If it only includes zombies...
#251 to #5 - Jameshaich (06/21/2013) [-]
Yeah, because heavy metal armour isn't heavy or anything. The zombies would catch and over power you.
They do have melee weapons, one of them does have a sword.
But they need guns to take out crowds and other people with guns.
People don't just **** swords and use them willy nilly.

What about the noise the suit of armour would make?
#175 to #5 - jthwdragon (06/21/2013) [-]
sounds like Walking dead and Revolution combined
User avatar #150 to #5 - gardenjustice (06/21/2013) [-]
In the latest walking dead comics you find out the last surving kingdoms of humanity use those very things.
#118 to #5 - kez (06/21/2013) [-]
Metal armour would be retarded. If a herde came you would be ****** . Armour so heavy.

Also, it will be chinking all over the place making sneaking impossible.

You want thick leather. Know how hard it is to bite through leather? pretty much impossible unless you have the jaws of, well... Jaws.

Lightly armored means light on your feet. Smart.
#255 to #118 - anonymous (06/21/2013) [-]
I agree, that is much more logical than full plate armour, which would kinda be hard to come by in a zombie apocalypse. I would understand if it was medieval times but not in the Walking Dead Universe. Full compact leather armour or something a little more modern like Anaconda ballistic armour would be perfect for zombies and bullets, or possibly Kevlar since it is much more commonly used worldwide and it would be easier to come by. But Anaconda armour is the strongest if I'm correct, unless things have been updated with some new, stronger type of armour.

Weeeeeeeellllllllll "The Kingdom" thinks of this in the most recent issue of the walking dead!
User avatar #99 to #5 - celestiasbeard (06/21/2013) [-]
Well depending on the armor it might be less effective in the long run if you ever have to go on foot. What you need will be Kevlar or in the case that you can find it Motor Sport gear since they are both relatively light and can still take a nice beating before having to replace but I would suggest a mace with a dagger like back-up if you want to keep medieval-ish since they would require less force to get a good blow on a zombie
User avatar #210 to #99 - daentraya (06/21/2013) [-]
Having melee backup would be a great idea, in general. Zombies strength is often their overwhelming numbers, and all the swords in the world won't save you from that. Unless you have Unlimited Blade Works
User avatar #89 to #5 - useroftheLOLZ (06/21/2013) [-]
I guess mother ******* never heard of Kevlar
User avatar #14 to #5 - Whaaaaaaaaa (06/20/2013) [-]
I said something like that once... granted it words worded better and made more sense.

Actually Ezekiel had that exact same idea since The kingdom if full of sword weilding knights on horseback and a tiger.

Its in the comic.

Actually Rec 3 had two of the guys wearing full medieval armor, not a good movie mind you, but still.

Knight armor is pretty heavy and immobile. But yes, using melee weapon is much more effective and practical: crowbar or wrench, for example, can also be used as tools.
The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks has ******* of good advices on this topic.

Actually plated armor isn't as immobile as many people think. The plates interlock allowing for almost full movement, it actually only reduces your mobility by about 10-15%. As for heavy a full grown man should still be able to run while wearing plate, even the heaviest suits rarely weighed more than 100lb.

Still though, they're in Georgia. They can't just walk around in suits of armor all day, they'd die of a heat stroke.
User avatar #42 to #16 - mehmachine (06/20/2013) [-]
But plates are not the most reliable. Unless you spend quit a bit of money on the suit they can almost always be torn off.

In World War Z (the book) a guy talks about how he got very good at killing zombies with a medieval Claymore.
#114 to #8 - anonymous (06/21/2013) [-]
But how could that be a tv show? It would be impossible for zombies to hurt you nobody would ever die and no zombies would be alerted by gunshots. It would just be people living nicely in their house and occasionally going for food slaughtering zombies with their swords and not even worrying about the zombies attacking them up close

That's like calling Fallout 3 an Elder Scrolls mod.
