not that I don't agree with you, cuz i do, but the number of lawsuits they would get, and they can't just win them all. it would kill the company... but ya know... they were dumb enough to put there in the first place... they me dumb enough to put it back...

couldnt they alert people in an update that the "terms of service" have been "updated" at some point and if you want the update you have to agree to it, not many people read those, most would say yes, it mentions that they can flip said switch whenever they want, then the next update after that they do. would limit the number of lawsuits.

Kill Microsoft? It'd kill the x-box branch, but would be a minor inconvenience to the company overall.

they tried a new model, it did not work, so they changed it.

Sony has been talking about DRM for many years, but since the fail of MS model they possible dropped it as MS is doing now.

if you believe one company would just switch it back to full DRM, why would the competitor not have the gut to do the same thing.

but if they do switch it up the law suit will tear them down anyways.

They won't because people will drop the console i feel like people have already made thei decisiion on the consoles even though it's months away and eveything can still change as this has shown. Yet people are still skeptical and will find **** to complain about no matter what.

Even then. If the advertise their console with "no permanent Internet connection required" and a year later they change it so you have to be always online, it's enough here to give the console back to the manufacturer and get all your money back. After 2 years, it would get harder. But that's two years after you buy the console, not after it is published.

Is that in a law somewhere that I am unaware of? Because I would assume they could freely update their console in whatever way they please. If they choose to gradually introduce the DRM policies through patches. (And actually advertise the DRM not as DRM but as the "Family Sharing" update) they could probably shift some views easily.

Everyone was unhappy about the restrictions. Now the restrictions are removed. Why should people conform to old sentiment when the source of it ceases to exist? It would be unfounded and very ignorant.
Now you must find other flaws in the Xbox One, but they have been reduced by at least 2.

Okay man, I agree you would have trouble forgiving a person who has done damage to you. But that is irrelevant in this situation. You are comparing a company if not a console to a person but the same rules don't apply. There is no logical reason to be upset with Microsoft because everything up to the point of release is just information. There's even more reason to be upset because they "changed their mind", not because they previously had disagreeable policies which were never in effect, and never affected a customer.

I used that as an example, so i didn't have to write along ass comment. Even though their policies were not in effect, it did effect the consumers. To a point that they had to change their polices. Im stating that just because they did change their policies doesn't mean we should be so quick to forgive them. honestly i agree with pretty much most of what you said, it just worries me that alot of people have already forgave and forgot.

Well what is there to not forgive? And what should we remember?
What exactly are you suggesting that people do? Not buy the console because the company tried to "pull a fast one" even though the console seems perfectly adequate? Are you implying they may try something else along the likes of a DRM policy?
This is why I don't understand your perspective.

The console looks great and now that the DRM policy has been removed its much more appealing to alot of people, especially those who pre ordered the ps4 instead of the xbox. I only wanted to state that they tried to pull quite a big dick move, and that just becuase they dropped it dosnt mean that they are now the best company. I didnt mean to drag this out and i hate it when people do, i just wanted to state that comment and its fine if you dont agree with it.

This is what my buddy had to say about this. And I quote him:

"Rant disclaimer: this is purely my opinion (Alex) which is subjected to be wrong.

ALRIGHT, this shouldn't affect me as much as it does but holy **** it bothers me. There's people seeing Microsoft as heroes now for removing DRM. Are you ******* kidding me?

Do you understand the sole and ONLY ******* reason they did that is because they realized if they didn't, they would collapse as a console company? (not all of Microsoft obviously)

It really bothers me that people think they wanted to make it in the best of the peoples interest cause "the fan wanted it."

No, the only thing Microsoft did was try and save their ass before the **** hits the fan. If I was a Xbox fan I would just sit there in disbelief on how a company can be so god damn incompetent.

"The whole Xbox one was build around the DRM feature, we can't remove it" a few weeks later, badaboom badabing. They clicked a few buttons, no more DRM. HOLY ******* ****, were they lying to us? YA ******* THINK SO?!

Point being, Microsoft is one of the ********* companies who will attempt to turn this disaster into some kind of hope for their buyers, saying **** like "we listened to you, thanks to you we created the Xbox One YOU like" Instead of admitting the truth "the only reason we did remove DRM is that our company would loose so much sales that we might as well shoot ourselves because we though we had control over our customers and thought that they would swallow our huge cock because we think they are Idiots."

There, ******* done. The second Linux has good support for gaming I am right the **** out."

except, you are idiots.

you were buying second hand games from gamestop, providing 0% profit to MS and more importantly, the games developers, Because gamestop had their massive cocks in your mouth.
so MS instates DRM, and anti-resale features (agreed, mostly out of greed) in order to minimize these losses to them and games companies.

everyone acts all butthurt (whatever, that's your right) and now they've changed their plan.

All in all, it affects me nothing, i won't be spending £500 on a console, i'll upgrade my PC instead.

exactly who won? we did. the gamers won.

microsoft listened because they had no choice because we the gamers made them listen through our wallets.

and you cant blame them for turning this into a good publicity stunt they're a company they make money that is their sole purpose

what you want them so say haaay guyz we ****** up so we're gonna change it cuz it was a complete ********* of flying diaarhea after indian curry night.

no of course they're gonna try and turn this into something good for them

and PS4 ISNT ANY BETTER both ps4 and xbox before E3 were in a union with their policy on used games so that both could benefit them and than ps4 went and backstabbed xbox at e3 by suddenly changing they're policy on used games

now i dont know about you but i would rather go for a company who fixes it's mistakes than a company who would willingly backstab and shame another company after breaking its word.

How Microsoft wants you to believe they're removing DRM:
Alright team, we're going to have to rebuild this baby from the ground up. It won't be easy, but the fans asked for it and we always deliver. This is going to take months of round the clock action, but we'll get it done.

How it actually works:

"Supporting Xbox One would be like supporting someone that wanted to rape you, that only stopped because they got caught in the act."

it's the principles, they ****** their customers over and went on for months think they could get away with it. Then they get **** on.

"oh ****, our fans aren't actually brainwashed faggots"

so they change it to recover their sales.

here's the most important part though:
What's to stop them from doing it again once people actually have the console?

i dont support a company that wants to **** me over only to stop when they become highly outnumbered

Well done for comparing a company trying to do something different to rape.
You are the ******* idiots I am talking about. Microsoft believed the new policy was a good one and that gamers would buy it. The fan reaction told them otherwise so they admitted they were wrong and changed their policy. And of course they change it to recover sales its a ******* capitalist company you ******* they do it for your money not for your love just as Sony is doing

Stop acting like a butt hurt 10 year old complaining about ' muh feelins '

And for the record I actually liked the old policy of being able to share my games with 10 other people.

And as for future implementation of the DRM policy?
This would create even more backlash stopping future sales. Microsoft are a massive company investing into the future not just the initial release date of the xbox one.

thats the other thing wrong. they took away the GOOD things as well as the bad.

and feelings? butthurt?

i'm sorry i didnt know being smart with my money constituted an emotional aspect.

Steam is an amazing model for gaming and its true that one day it will apply to consoles.

what microsoft did wrong is push out all these policies and change and saying "deal with it" while ALSO not explaining why they were doing it in a clear way.

they sent out their idea in the worst way possible and because of this created outrage. It mightve been good intentions but it was a horrible way to showcase it.

on top of that not only were they forcing buyers to conform to the new way of gaming, they were also taking away the previous options of just sharing a game.

if you want to bring out an idea, it cannot be forced, you have to give consumers some time to adjust, and microsofts market strategy lacked that in any shape or form.

it doesnt help that it took until the end of E3 for microsoft to EVEN CONSIDER changing anything.

so no im not butthurt over it, im smart enough to know when im being suckered. PS4 isnt perfect but at least it's just a tad more honest than microsoft

Stop with the lies and fake quotes they never said "deal with it"

Yes there way of showcasing these new features weren't very clear but it wasn't rocket science to understand just too many retards with too much access to the internet and false rumours.

And Microsoft didn't force any features they just showed an alternative/innovation to the current generation of consoles and taking the step into the digital world instead of just copying and pasting the xbox 360 like Sony have blatently done.

There was no forcing on Microsofts part just giving consumers a new different way of doing things if they so choose to

Microsoft said they used E3 to garner consumer reaction and feedback the fact they changed these policies so quickly after E3 is actually really fast and surprising so you cannot knock Microsoft for responding so quickly to the feedback.

You really are just trying to find any reason to hate on the Xbox One and now we have two consoles barely indistinguishable from each other except from the Kinect. I wanted choice and innovation in the new generation and now all we have is just the Xbox 360/PS3 with better specs.

And please point out how Microsoft were not "honest" or are you just saying random words?

They DID say "Deal with it". But indirectly.

"Want to play offline? We have something for that, its called an xbox360"

"There are cities with unstable internet? Why would i live in those areas?"

The guy who said the second quote actually got fired after everyone started talking crap about M$. M$ is willing to backstab any of its employ. I was a M$ fanboy but im not gonna bend over and let them **** me over with the xbox1.

The first quote yes. But I have never heard of the second quote I seriously doubt anyone said that. But when it all comes down to it all these Sony fanboys are attacking a console they are never gonna buy it just seems so sad and pointless. I was leaning towards the PS4 for a while but ever since E3 I have been leaning towards the Xbox. That is my own educated choice and opinion. What I don't understand is the fact that people are attacking and spreading false rumours about a console. If you don't like the features of the Xbox get a PS4. Its the same with any product I get the one that suits my needs without following blind mindless consumer loyalty like most of the Sony drones are.

And can you send me the link to the guy who got fired for saying that?

venturebeat.com/2013/04/10/adam-orth-fired-microsoft-xbox-exec-who-insulted-fans-appears-to-have-joined-the-ranks-of-the-jobseekers/

It's not about console wars anymore, its about M$ trying to **** over their consumers. And since xbox fanboys love talking **** about sony. I know cuz i was part of it during the xbox and 360 era. Now sony is laughing their asses off because M$ fans are getting ****** over and some are so blind they are accepting getting deepthroat.

LOL at that guy but he didn't get fired he resigned. And I look at it very simple buy the console that suits your needs the most and never listen to ******** off the internet. I never bashed any console because I'm not immature. I wish people would stop taking Microsoft's actions as a personal attack because it wasn't because they don't give 2 ***** about you to personally attack/insult people neither does Sony all they want is your money. Misinformation about consoles affects the consumers as well not just the customers. If I would have believed all the false ******** about the Xbox One I would have got the PS4 and wouldn't have been as happier with my purchase as I would with an Xbox One

HOW in the hell did they think it was a good idea? people were complaining since the reveal?? what they don't ******* know untill preorders tell them? That means they don't listen to their fans at all because how the **** did Sony know what people wanted before the pre-orders???? Sony LISTENS tot he fans.

Ho can you support a company that doesn't have a solid ground to establish their ideas? I though they were so determined with this DRM ****.

Think of them as presidential candidates and you vote with your money.

Aside fromt hat they force the kinect with every box wich raises it over $100 over the competition and it STILL has inferior hardware. how anyone chooses to support that is well beyond me.

I never trade in games I always buy games at launch and I like to share games with my friends and my internet is never down. So how is the Xbox one not a good console for me?

You say people were complaining. Yeah people complain about everything but yet still a lot of people still wanted the Xbox.

Kinect is a feature you thick **** if you don't like it that's your opinion not a valid fact in an argument quit behaving like a six year old and buy the console YOU like not what some retard told you to buy.

And can people stop acting like their loud ******* stupid opinions are facts just because you don't like Kinect doesn't mean that others might like it.

Your obvious disregard for other peoples opinions in the world is beyond me

the kinect shouldn't be forced with the xbox. they force 100 dollars more just becaus eof that. Many people who would like the xbox won't buy it just because of that. Don't forget it still has inferior hardware so the $100 extra is a big problem

I bet you don't even understand how the Xbox has inferior hardware but it is pretty much negligible and if you don't like the Kinect get a PS4.

Kinect is a major feature of the Xbox that is why people are forced to buy it because it is a major part of the whole Xbox experience and package.

i understand. I'm not an expert but i know a bit. I've done some research and read a lot about the two of them. they did a full thorough spec analysis on eurogamer on both of them.

PS3 had better specs than the xbox 360 yet it made no difference whatsoever as all the cross platform games were identical except for Skyrim which ran a lot better on the Xbox 360.

PS3 also sold for $600 so higher price point doesn't help. PS3 had better hardware but it was difficult to program for which is why most multiplatform games looked better on the 360. If you know anything about what is going on you'd know that they made the PS4 the easiest thing to develop for.

No they made it EASIER to develop for not the easiest if you knew anything about what is going on you would have known that but that doesn't get away from the fact that hardware makes no difference between consoles especially as the Xbox one will have cloud processing.

You really do need to go back and do your research Gaikai allows you to play previous generation games and will not be active at launch.

Did hardware make a difference generation? NO
Will it this generation? Most definitely not

Please stop making up stuff now
