I'm 17 and still live with my parents. Not gonna move out in the near future, unless for school reason. An apartment in my city would go for 2 mill (bout 345.000 USD), if I'm lucky. It's not as sad as it seems, to be living with your parents at a somewhat high age.

Unless you get married there's no real reason to move out. You can work, earn money and still live with your parents. I do so because I have no siblings and never really had any friends, so no point in living alone in some small room. No point in splitting up a family just to be DURR STRONG AND INDEPENDONT HURRRR just cause "everyone else does it".

There are many many reasons to move out. Not counting getting married or being strong and independent

Though being you have no friends staying with them is probably best for you.

However, there are reasons to stay as well. For example, in this economic crisis, living with your parents and contributing on bills/tax/rent is really important. Also, if my parents had some sort of medical condition, I would stay and help the best I can, because after all they are my parents, they have been supporting me since the day I was born. Obviously, this can set you back on your personal life, but I would not mind, because basically you are doing the right thing. The only thing that matters and that would push you to move out is once you have started sorting your life out and plan to start a family of your own. Until then, there is no reason to feel shame for actually helping the people that have supported you your entire life.

Considering how he types, I'm assuming he's too stupid to get a job and/or move out.

Hey some people figured **** out in life late, therefore have to live with their parents longer than normal. My brother is 25 and still lives with my parents. He's working towards a ph.d. I'm 21 and still live with them too. Until I get a bachelor's that is.

My brother is 28 and lives at home still. He graduated college and has a job, albeit at Walmart tech department, but it's better than nothing.

He has social anxiety, and a touch of aspergers as well, so he doesn't have that many friends. He pays for groceries and a few of my college fees. He has no reason to move out, and we have no reason to kick him out.

My sister is 28 and her boyfriend (now fiance) are living with my mother along with myself.

Life's been tough for them....but I still want them out of the damn house, so does my mother. The boyfriend keeps eating all the food my mother gets for myself and I, and what he doesn't make for himself, my sister makes for the both of them even when they have their own food that they get.

Now he's starting to use my stuff, he's used my headphones and I've yet to know what happened to my automatic trimmer....

Sorry, felt like I ranted a bit there.

Tell him how you feel. Chances are that he has no idea if you haven't mentioned it before.

I moved out when I was 16, but kinda had to because of school, but it's pretty nice not having people tell you what to do
